Main Features The Railways on Board Passenger Announcement and Emergency Call System allows: The train emergency call system is crucial for ensuring passenger safety, quickly responding to emergencies, and enhancing service quality. It allows passengers to immediately contact staff in emergencies, ensuring swift issue resolution. This system is an essential part of modern train operations. Technical Specifications The Railways on Board Passenger Announcement and Emergency Call System is composed by the following devices: - Gooseneck smart microphones - SIP Server - Audio amplifiers - Passenger Alarm Intercoms - Loudspeakers - Passenger Emergency Intercoms Passenger Announcement The Railways on Board Passenger Announcement function allows the on-board driver to broadcast live announcements to passengers using a gooseneck smart microphone, using audio amplifiers and loudspeakers distributed along the train. It is possible to broadcast live announcements from the operations center on the ground. Emergency Call When a passenger needs help and requests a call via the dedicated button of Passenger Emergency Intercoms (PEI), a call is sent to the driver’s cabin. At the same time, the system automatically activates an alarm trigger which allows the CCTV system to display the images coming from the camera closest to the station where the passenger requested the call. The PEIs comply with the TSI/STIPRM and operate in the system according to the EN16683 standard: when the microphone in the cabin receives a call, the corresponding LED light will start flashing and an acoustic warning will be generated to indicate the origin of the call itself. The Passenger Alarm Intercom (PAI) operates in the system in accordance with the EN16334 standard. The PAI, installed near each door and connected to the relevant emergency braking request handle (PAD), automatically activates a communication request with driver when the handle is activated by passengers. Communications between PAI, PEI and the driver’s microphone are VoIP based. External System Integration The Railways on Board Passenger Announcement and Emergency Call System is equipped with an Application Programming Interface (API) which allows an external system to integrate and broadcast pre-recorded audio messages like: - Information on approaching stops - Information on stops - Information on leaving stops - Door openings - Door closing - On-board services - Traffic and safety announcements These announcements, which can also be broadcast in multiple languages, facilitate passenger orientation and increase perceived safety, thus increasing passenger comfort and satisfaction. - Gooseneck smart microphones - SIP Server - Audio amplifiers - Passenger Alarm Intercoms - Loudspeakers - Passenger Emergency Intercoms - TSI/STIPRM compliant - EN16683 and EN16334 standards - VoIP communication - API for external integration
