Overview
The COMBIVERT P6 from KEB combines a pitch inverter, brake control and supply, an energy-storage charging device and an integrated PLC in a single compact unit. It adjusts rotor blade angle to optimise turbine output and, in fault conditions, executes a fast safety run to turn blades out of the wind and prevent overspeed. Suitable for onshore and offshore pitch systems across multiple power classes.

Functional safety in pitch applications
On detection of safety-critical conditions the device independently performs a safety run: rotor blades are turned out of the wind quickly and reliably to protect the turbine from dangerous overspeeds. TÜV Rheinland verification confirms Performance Level d (PL d) according to EN ISO 13849-1.

Software packages
The integrated PLC is programmable and includes a basic control library. An Extended Pitch Library provides predefined function blocks for typical pitch tasks so integrators can implement plant-specific interfaces. Flexible software configuration supports different application requirements.

Pitch motors
KEB supplies matched pitch motors across the power range: highly dynamic, vibration-resistant servo motors with robust encoders and KEB fail-safe brakes. Motor options include IP65 and anti-corrosion coatings for offshore use, plus Hot Climate (HCV) and Cold Climate (CCV) variants. Pre‑assembled motor and sensor cables with connectors simplify installation.
