Product OverviewThe KSEM PLUS modular drill covers drilling applications in a diameter range from 28 mm to 101.6 mm (1.102–4″) up to 10×D. KSEM PLUS combines the advantages of a modular drill and an indexable drill, providing high speed and feed capability with large length-to-diameter ratio at low consumable cost. This modular system enables quick tool set-up and reduces tool inventory needs.
Head Styles- The KSEM PLUS A1 head for lowest cost per hole.
- The KSEM PLUS B1 head for challenging conditions like stacked plates, cross holes, and inclined exits.
- Interchangeable head styles with two fully effective cutting edges deliver excellent productivity in many materials and cutting conditions.
NEW! KSEM PLUS HPP InsertsEliminate the need for pilot holes in deep-hole drilling. The HPP inserts feature a raised center point that acts as a guide pin to maintain straightness and precision, suited to high-volume production such as wind-energy component drilling.
- HP cutting geometry for maximum metal removal rates
- Raised center point for straightness and precision
- Corner chamfer protects main cutting edge for extended tool life
KCMS40 for KSEM PLUS MD InsertsProduced with advanced HiPIMS coating technology, KCMS40 is formulated for machining stainless steel, high-temperature alloys and long-chipping steels.
- Maximum process reliability with long tool life on stainless materials
- Smooth coating surface prevents build-up on cutting edges for consistent machining
- Grade combines optimum coating adhesion and high carbide toughness
- MD geometry provides superior chip control and surface finish
Applications- Large-diameter drilling (28 mm to 101.6 mm)
