OverviewThe Kipp & Zonen SMP3-A is a smart pyranometer for industrial and meteorological applications, providing amplified analogue and digital outputs with low maintenance requirements. Based on CMP3 technology, the SMP3 adds a Modbus® interface, improved response time and temperature-corrected measurements. Its wide supply range (5–30 VDC) and protection against over-voltage, reverse polarity and short circuits simplify integration into measurement stations. Identical sensitivity and connections across units enable quick replacement during recalibration.
Benefits- ISO / IEC classification: Spectrally Flat Class C (ISO 9060) with ISO / IEC 17025 calibration.
- Low maintenance: internal drying cartridge — no replacement needed for 10 years; 5-year warranty and high MTBF.
- Smart outputs and low power: Modbus RTU (2-wire RS-485) plus analogue outputs (4–20 mA), temperature correction and minimal post-recalibration adjustments.
