OverviewLake Champlain Chocolates, a family-owned confectioner in Vermont, implemented a packaging line from LoeschPack to increase throughput and provide hermetic, full-wrap packaging of chocolate bars. The supplied system combines a LOMATIC feeding and distribution system with integrated belt buffer and the twin-station fold-wrapping machine LTM-DUO.
Key data- Twin-station fold-wrapping machine: LTM-DUO
- LOMATIC feeding and distribution system with integrated belt buffer
- Hermetic full-wrap sealing on both ends
- Capacity: up to 200 chocolate bars per minute (system example)
- Fast format and recipe changeover; low personnel requirement
System description and benefitsThe LOMATIC accepts bars from the upstream pouring line, aligns and buffers them, then feeds the LTM-DUO. The LTM-DUO performs hermetic sealing and subsequent paper or cardboard wrapping. The integrated buffer compensates for production fluctuations and stabilizes feed to the packaging machine. Resulting benefits include higher throughput, consistent sealing quality and simplified operation and maintenance.
Sustainability and material flexibilityThe system supports material options (for example aluminium foil or OPP film at the first station; paper or cardboard at the second) to enable recyclable packaging choices and to match the customer's sourcing strategy. Machines are designed for easy access and cleaning to support hygiene and material changeover.
Project and supportProject delivery from order to commissioning took approximately nine months with close coordination between LoeschPack and Lake Champlain. Remote connection enables diagnostics and remote maintenance; spare-part support reduces downtime risk.
