Description

Overview
The IMT100 family (IMT100 and IMT100X) is a handheld multifunction industrial tester combining low-resistance (DLRO), continuity and insulation resistance measurement in one instrument. Designed for industrial sites and rooftop PV work, it supports two-, three- and four-terminal methods and features an IP54-rated enclosure. The IMT100X variant adds Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) for secure live streaming to CertSuite Asset.

Connected testing (IMT100X)
The IMT100X provides BLE connectivity for secure wireless streaming and integration with CertSuite Asset for site management, reporting and certification. Connected capabilities include:
  • Live streaming of results during measurement.
  • Organise results by site, string or asset and use templates for repetitive tests.
  • Access results via CertSuite Asset mobile app or web account.
  • Secure, cable-free Bluetooth communication; CertSuite Asset Lite included with option to upgrade.

Battery and power
  • Supplied with six NiMH rechargeable cells and mains charger (>1200 insulation or continuity tests per charge).
  • Compatible with six 1.5 V alkaline (AA), 1.5 V lithium (LiFeS2) or 1.2 V NiMH cells when required.

Test functions and ranges
  • Insulation tests: selectable voltages 50 V, 250 V, 500 V and 1 kV plus user-variable voltage.
  • Guard terminal for leakage current detection (0.1 μA resolution) to reduce measurement error.
  • Insulation modes: IR, PI (1–10 min), DAR (e.g. 30 s / 60 s), timed tests T(s) 1–10 min, 3P three-phase insulation testing.
  • Continuity: test currents 20 mA or 200 mA; uni-directional, bi-directional and three-phase modes.
  • DLRO (low resistance): mΩ range with 200 mA test current; manual/auto and uni-/bi-directional, plus three-phase DLRO.
  • Temperature measurement and compensation; supplied thermocouple default type T (configurable to J and K).

Accessories and supplied leads
Supplied with a complete set of detachable test leads and interchangeable clips/probes: PV connectors, remote probe, insulation lead set, Kelvin clips/probes for DLRO, and temperature probe.

Safety, standards and applications
  • Complies with IEC 61010 and EMC IEC 61326; IEC 62446 coverage for PV when used with required accessories.
  • Meets UN ECE R100 for hybrid/electric vehicle testing (suitable for EV component tests).
  • Rated for CAT III 600 V up to 3000 m and system voltages to 1000 V AC/DC.
  • Intended for PV installations, industrial commissioning, maintenance and verification.

Firmware, updates and storage
Firmware is user-upgradeable via USB; instrument supports automatic update if an update package is present. Stored tests are exportable via USB; firmware/GUI/measurement versions are documented with update packages where applicable.

Diagnostic and troubleshooting
Built-in warnings and help guide users through common fault conditions: lost connection during test, failed export, fuse failure, low battery/charging faults and voltage-detected lockouts. Lockout thresholds inhibit testing when voltage above configured limits is detected (typical hard-coded lockout at 20 V for most modes; insulation lockout selectable among 20 V, 30 V, 50 V or 75 V).
