Product overview
The scanCONTROL 8x00 family (scanCONTROL 8500 / 8200) are laser profile scanners for precise 2D profile and calibrated 3D measurements. They combine Green Laser illumination, 4K-class profiles and integrated SMART 3D evaluation to deliver high-detail profile capture and native calibrated 3D point cloud output for inline inspection and process monitoring.

Ultra-compact scanner with integrated signal processing
The 8x00 series features an ultra-compact hardware design with onboard SMART 3D processing. It is intended for easy integration in static installations and robot-mounted applications, enabling autonomous measurement tasks without additional control hardware.

Green Laser technology
The optimized Green Laser wavelength reduces measurement noise and increases repeatability across a wide range of surface types. Shorter exposure times and improved signal robustness extend applicability to reflective, absorptive or mixed-material surfaces.

Calibrated 3D point clouds (Valid3D)
Devices produce calibrated 3D point clouds (Valid3D) for true 3D evaluation. Valid3D output is available via GigE Vision / GenICam and can be processed by third-party software or custom integration solutions.

Software and SMART operation
The 3DInspect software supports configuration and creation of 2D/3D measurement programs. More than 80 measurement programs are available for common tasks (gap, angle, step height, etc.). Programs can be stored on the scanner for autonomous SMART operation, enabling direct measurement output to PLCs or fieldbus systems.

Industrial readiness & options
The 8x00 series is designed for industrial environments and offers cooling options for elevated ambient temperatures (passive heat sink, active cooling with fan, custom cooling solutions). Multiple industrial interfaces simplify integration into automation systems.
