Description

Intrinsically Safe “ia” ANZEx, ATEX, IECEx, & C-UL-US Reverse Polarity Protected Analog Voltage Output Short Circuit Protected Sync/Tx Input Line Various Sensing Ranges Wide Temperature Range Temperature Compensation LED Indicator The RPS-409A-IS2 is Migatron’s second generation intrinsically safe ultrasonic sensor, certified for use in Hazardous (Classified) Locations and Explosive Atmospheres, including ANZEx, ATEX, IECEx, and C-UL-US approvals for Zone 0, 1, 2, 20, 21, 22 and Class I, II, III applications when used with an approved intrinsic safety barrier. It is fully sealed to IP67 and factory pre-calibrated, requiring no setup or training. The sensor provides a linear 0–10 VDC output proportional to distance, for example 0.25 V per inch on a 4–40 inch model, making it straightforward to scale directly into PLC or computer analog inputs using simple zero and span values. Built-in temperature compensation ensures stable accuracy across the operating range, while short-circuit protection, an LED status indicator, and a Sync/Tx line for timing control or multi-sensor operation round out a robust, industrial design.
