The 3 Metre Cube Smoke Density Apparatus, in accordance with IEC 61034 or BS 6853, provides a test method for measuring the density of smoke generated from building material or cable burning under a defined fire source.
During the test, when smoke is generated, the optical transmittance is continuously changed by blocking the light path through the smoke, resulting in a minimum transmission value and a test time to reach the minimum transmission.
The 3 Metre Cube Smoke Density Apparatus consists of:
• The internal dimensions of the test chamber shall be 3000mm*3000mm*3000mm, with a total internal volume of 27 cubic metres.
• The test chamber shall be equipped with a door and observation window to allow the user to observe the state of affairs in the combustion chamber.
• The chamber shall be equipped with several ventilation holes near the floor to ensure a balanced atmospheric pressure inside and outside the chamber.
• On the left and right side walls, transparent glass panels are installed, with light sources and optical receivers on each side.
• Provides a floor-mounted fan to evenly agitate the smoke in the combustion chamber.
• Provides an exhaust fan on top of the chamber to remove the smoke generated by the test.
• Provides a combustion test stand and a stainless steel alcohol tray.
• The light source is an imported light source, it is controlled by a constant current source, has higher stability. Features of the light source:
• The light source, controlled by a constant current source, provides more stable and reliable data compared to the constant voltage mode.
• Automatically obtain the optical of the gear, with an accuracy of 0.01%.
