The DIN 54837 Chamber, in accordance with DIN 54837/DIN 5510, is designed to determine the burning characteristics of railway material exposed to a wide opening gas burner flame, including damage range, smoke development, and droplet test.
DIN 5510-2 uses DIN 54837 test results for materials classification.
• DIN 54837 Chamber consists of
• Stainless steel test chamber, with an internal size of 1350mm x 800mm x 800mm.
• The test chamber is equipped with 2 observation glass windows on the front which is complied with DIN 50050-2.
• Stainless steel square grille at the bottom of the test chamber for ventilation, grille size 30 by 30mm, height 30mm.
• Anemometer, measurement range up to 10 m/s, with a resolution of 0.1 m/s.
• Smoke measurement device, complies with DIN 50055, the light source is 2900K lamp.
• Temperature measurement device, used to measure the exhaust duct temperature, 3 K type insulated thermocouples, measurement range up to 300 degrees.
• Timing device, used to record the burning time, afterglow time, droplet time etc.
• Wide opening burner, installed on the sliding rail which is easy to apply the flame to the specimen.
• Calibration device, stainless steel plate with 3 thermocouples on the rear, measuring range up to 900 degrees, used to calibrate the burner.
• Stainless steel specimen holder and support stand.
• Data acquisition system, used to record the smoke measurement data.
• Operation software, English Windows based.
