Overview- SAFE · PRECISE · ROBUST. Neftgen Fuel Receiving Units (FRU) are factory-assembled, factory-tested skids built with certified components to transfer and measure liquid fuels. A single engineered platform covers road-tanker decanting and marine bunkering, supplied as an outdoor IP cabinet, an open skid, or a mobile wheeled unit, sized to flow rate, inlet pressure, fuel data and hazardous-area classification.
Configurations- Decanting Unit — Road-tanker unloading into storage tanks with measured, documented delivery. Camlock or dry-break inlet, delivery ticket per tanker, tanker earthing interlock.
- Bunkering Unit — Barge, quay and vessel fuel transfer where quantity is contractually critical. Coriolis mass measurement, time-stamped transfer report, mobile wheeled execution available.
- Fuel Counting Unit — In-line measurement only, where line pressure is supplied by an existing pump. Compact footprint with no rotating equipment, ready for terminal-system integration.
Measurement technology- Coriolis mass meter — measures mass, density and temperature; ±0.25 % of rate; 200–2,000 L/min; no moving parts; unaffected by viscosity. Best for bunkering, disputed quantities and heavy or variable fuels. Every meter is supplied with a calibration certificate.
- Positive displacement (PD) meter — volume measurement; ±0.25 % of rate; 70–700 L/min; lowest installed cost. Best for single-product diesel decanting.
- Turbine meter (on request) — volume measurement for clean, low-viscosity, steady-flow duties.
Note on custody transfer- The unit is not supplied for custody transfer or fiscal (invoiced) measurement by default. Where a delivery is invoiced on the meter reading, the complete measuring system is verified and sealed by the authority having jurisdiction in the country of use. Pattern-approved (MID / OIML R117) meter options are available for these applications.
GMP self-priming pumps (ATEX)- Where the skid supplies its own line pressure, Neftgen uses GMP self-priming surface electric pumps built for hazardous-area fuel duty.
- ATEX certified to Directive 2014/34/EU — II 2G Ex c IIB T4 (suitable for Zone 1/2 gas atmospheres).
- Self-priming, open-impeller design for diesel and gas-oil transfer.
- Viton valve gasket and mechanical seal for fuel compatibility.
- Flow rates up to ~2,300 L/min, heads up to ~76 m, motor ratings 0.37–30 kW.
- Available in cast iron, bronze or stainless steel to match the fluid. Pump selected from liquid type, temperature, viscosity/density, flow rate, head and suction lift.
Certification & compliance- ATEX 2014/34/EU — equipment for explosive atmospheres (pumps, Coriolis transmitter, PD meter, Ex junction boxes, control enclosure).
- IECEx — international Ex certification for the instruments.
- CE marking — under the Pressure Equipment Directive PED 2014/68/EU and ATEX.
- IEC 60079 series — hazardous-area design reference.
- ISO 9001:2015 — certified manufacturer.
- ISO 12944 C4 / C5-M — protective coating for outdoor / marine environments.
- Meter calibration certificate supplied with every meter; MID 2014/32/EU / OIML R117 pattern-approved meter options available for custody-transfer duties.
Safety & hazardous-area design- Certified explosion-proof control enclosure with HMI, pushbuttons and emergency stop on the front.
- Earthing / equipotential bonding with tanker earthing interlock and static control.
- Start permissives: earthing proven, valves proven, no active alarm before start.
- Safety relief valve for thermal and overpressure protection.
- Back-pressure valve keeps the meter run flooded for accurate measurement.
- Air / gas eliminator removes entrained air before the meter.
- Integral drip tray with drain valve for spill containment.
- Defined fail-safe valve positions on power loss; E-stop hardwired independently of the PLC.
- Strainer protects the meter and pump; area classification confirmed against the client drawing before design release.
Standard scope of supply- Skid frame (blasted & coated), drip tray with drain, inlet coupling (camlock / TW / dry-break), flanged ATEX-assessed isolation valves, stainless strainer, air/gas eliminator, Coriolis or PD flow meter, back-pressure valve, safety relief valve, pressure/temperature/level instrumentation, PLC + HMI control panel with E-stop, Ex junction boxes and glands, earthing terminal, certified explosion-proof enclosure, protective steel cage and roof, and full documentation (GA, P&ID, wiring, O&M, FAT report, hazardous-area classification drawing, Ex equipment register).
- PLC/HMI features include live flow rate, batch total and non-resettable master totalizer, delivery-ticket printout, calibration mode, operator/supervisor access, Modbus RTU & TCP, event logging, USB transaction export and optional 4G/LTE.

Frequently asked questions- What is a fuel pumping and metering skid? A factory-assembled unit that transfers liquid fuel and measures the quantity, with pump, meter, valves, safety devices and PLC control pre-integrated on one frame and tested before delivery.
- What is the difference between decanting, bunkering and counting units? Decanting unloads road tankers into storage with a printed delivery ticket. Bunkering transfers fuel to or from barges and vessels with Coriolis mass measurement and a time-stamped report. A counting unit measures in-line only, using pressure from an existing pump.
- Coriolis or positive displacement — which meter should I choose? Coriolis measures mass directly (±0.25 %), is unaffected by viscosity and has no moving parts — best for bunkering and disputed or variable fuels. PD meters are a lower-cost choice for single-product diesel decanting.
- Are the skids ATEX certified? Yes. The pumps, Coriolis transmitter, PD meter, junction boxes and control enclosure are ATEX / IECEx certified and the unit is designed with reference to the IEC 60079 series and Directive 2014/34/EU.
- Can the unit be used for custody transfer or fiscal billing? Not by default. For invoiced deliveries the complete measuring system must be verified and sealed by the local authority; pattern-approved (MID / OIML) meter options are available for this.
- What fuels and flow rates are supported? Diesel, gas-oil and MGO (flash point ≥ 60 °C; not gasoline), from 200 to 2,000 L/min per unit.
