Steel coil slitting production line is a kind of efficient production equipment which cuts wide metal coil into several narrow strips and rewinds them through continuous processing. Its workflow mainly includes three major steps: uncoiling, slitting and slitter rewinder.
Uncoiling Stage
• The raw material coil is mounted on the uncoiler, where it is unwound and fed into the slitting unit via the conveyor system.
• This stage often includes a pressing mechanism to prevent material loosening, along with automatic centering and guide correction to ensure precise alignment for the slitting process.
Slitting Stage
• The uncoiled material enters the slitter machines, where multiple precision blades cut the wide metal coil into strips of the desired width.
• The gap, pressure, and position of the blades are adjustable according to the material’s thickness and hardness to ensure cutting quality.
• Trimmed edges are collected and handled by a scrap edge disposal system.
slitter rewinder
• The slit narrow strips pass through a tensioning device to maintain flatness and tension before being wound into smaller coils by the slitter rewinder.
• The slitter rewinder is equipped with tension adjustment to ensure the strips are wound tightly and neatly for easy transportation and usage.
