Product OverviewBSTFLEX Silica Welding Blanket Roll is a woven high-temperature silica fabric supplied in continuous roll form for welding blanket manufacturers, industrial textile converters, distributors and OEM buyers. Available in 70% silica and ≥96% high silica constructions, the material is used for welding blankets, welding curtains, spark barriers and hot-work protection where higher thermal capability than conventional fiberglass is required. Multiple fabric weights, thicknesses and widths are available, with full-roll, cut-to-length and finished welding blanket supply options.
What is a Silica Welding Blanket Roll?A silica welding blanket roll is woven silica textile supplied as continuous fabric rather than as a pre-sized and sewn welding blanket. The roll format is designed primarily for fabricators, converters, distributors and OEM buyers that manufacture different welding protection products from the same high-temperature material.
Common Conversions / Uses- Welding blankets
- Welding curtains
- Welding screens
- Spark barriers
- Hot-work protective panels
- Industrial heat barriers
- Equipment protection covers

Why Choose Silica Instead of Fiberglass Welding Fabric?Selection Factor | Fiberglass Welding Fabric | Silica Welding Fabric
General Welding Protection | Widely used | Also suitable
Material Cost | Generally lower | Generally higher
High-Temperature Capability | Suitable for many standard welding applications | Selected for higher thermal exposure
Available Constructions | Uncoated and multiple coated options | 70% and ≥96% silica grades plus selected surface treatments
Primary Buying Reason | Economy and general-purpose protection | Higher-temperature welding and thermal protection
Supply FormatsSupply Format | Description | Typical Buyer
Full Roll | Continuous silica welding fabric | Industrial converters, fabricators and distributors
Cut-to-Length Fabric | Continuous material supplied in specified lengths | Fabricators requiring controlled quantities
Cut Panels | Silica fabric cut to specified panel dimensions | Customers performing their own sewing and assembly
Finished Welding Blanket | Sewn and fabricated silica blanket | End users, distributors and OEM finished-product programs
Selection & Specification Notes- Silica fabric should not be treated as a single material grade; silica content, fabric weight, thickness, yarn construction, weave, surface treatment and usable width all affect performance.
- Higher silica content (≥96%) provides increased continuous temperature capability (~1000°C) but may not be the most cost-effective option when 70% silica (~800°C) is sufficient.
- Temperature rating must consider exposure conditions: continuous vs peak exposures, radiant heat, direct hot-particle contact, welding sparks, spatter, hot slag and installation orientation (vertical vs horizontal).
- Roll width and finished blanket size must be planned: finished blankets may be fabricated from multiple panels if the raw fabric width is insufficient.
Recommended RFQ ItemsProvide the following when requesting material specification or quotation: silica grade (70% or ≥96%), operating temperature (continuous and peak), application type (welding, cutting, curtains, screens, equipment protection), fabric weight (g/m² or oz/yd²), thickness, usable width, roll length, quantity (number of rolls or total meters), supply format (full rolls, cut lengths, panels, finished blankets), and any OEM/labeling/packaging requirements.
Additional Notes- Roll goods normally do not include sewn hems, reinforced edges, grommets, eyelets, attachment straps or finished blanket packaging unless specifically ordered as finished products.
