Description

Overview
NITOFLON No.920UL is an ultra-thin, non-adhesive fluoroplastic film made of PTFE without fillers. It delivers heat resistance, low friction/sliding properties, electrical insulation, chemical resistance, mold-release behavior and weather resistance for industrial and electronic applications.

Key features
  • Approximately twice the tensile strength and 1.5× the breakdown voltage of skived NITOFLON (No.900UL); suitable for electrical insulation of components such as insulating coatings for motors, transformers and field coils, and for interlayer insulation (spacers, slot insulation).
  • Available in ultra-thin gauges down to 20 µm; suitable for sliding surfaces in precision equipment (cameras, calculators, tape/cassette mechanisms) and for die-cut packing.
  • Smooth, non-adhesive surface appropriate for sliding parts and release applications.

Technical properties (typical values)
  • Product family / Model: NITOFLON™ No.920UL.
  • Material: PTFE (no filler), specially oriented film.
  • Standard example thickness: 0.05 mm (50 µm); available down to 20 µm.
  • Tensile strength (lengthwise): ≈ 80 MPa; (widthwise): ≈ 39 MPa.
  • Elongation (lengthwise): ≈ 117%; (widthwise): ≈ 335%.
  • Breakdown voltage (average): ≈ 11.3 kV; (minimum): ≈ 9.9 kV.
  • Heating shrinkage rate: @100°C L 3.3% / W -0.8%; @200°C L 11.6% / W -2.4%; @260°C L 18.5% / W -2.5%.
  • Water absorption: 0%.
  • Thermal conductivity: ≈ 0.23 W/(m·K).
  • Flame resistance: UL94 (E52859) VTM-0 / V-0.

Applications
  • Electrical insulation: insulating coatings for motors, transformers, field coils; interlayer insulation (spacers, slot liners).
  • Sliding surfaces and bearings in precision devices.
  • Die-cut parts and high-precision packing.
  • Situations requiring chemical resistance and low moisture uptake.

Remarks
  • Values listed are typical observed values and are not guaranteed performance specifications. Consult technical datasheet for detailed testing conditions and tolerances.
