Description

Overview
Our metal segmented seals include standard E‑Seals, V‑Seals and multi‑convolution E‑Seals. Size determines the number of segments required; typical configurations use 2 to 8 segments and can be customized to project requirements. For large‑diameter seals such as turbine shroud and power generation sections, segmentation reduces shipping cost and enables higher deflection profiles. Many segmented seals are finished with the proprietary NCCM coating to improve wear resistance. Because customers often present unique design envelopes, Omniseal collaborates on custom shaped and segmented solutions.

Applications
  • Aviation — helicopter engines and other low‑to‑moderate pressure fluid/gas sealing
  • Energy — natural gas turbines and power generation applications (large diameters)

Design & Features
  • Seal types: E‑Seals, V‑Seals, multi‑convolution E‑Seals
  • Segments per seal: typically 2 to 8 (customizable)
  • Segmentation advantages: reduced shipping cost for large diameters; enables higher deflection profiles
  • Coating: many segmented seals use NCCM proprietary wear coating
  • Multi‑convoluted sections: accommodate thermal expansion, vibration and axial/radial displacement
  • Custom shapes: rectangular, trapezoid and other special geometries to fit unique application envelopes
  • Assembly options: retainer and flange seal assemblies available for special shaped seals

PFAS status
By its nature, this component is PFAS‑Free*. *PFAS‑Free here means PFAS are not intentionally added to the product but does not exclude possible environmental traces.

Technical specifications
  • Seal types: E‑Seals, V‑Seals, Multi‑convolution E‑Seals
  • Typical number of segments: 2–8 (customizable)
  • Coating: NCCM proprietary wear coating (used on many segmented seals)
  • Designed for: low to moderate pressure fluids and gases; multi‑convolution designs increase capability for higher temperatures and pressures
  • Common applications: aviation (helicopter engines), energy (natural gas turbines), power generation sections
  • Shapes: round and special shapes (rectangular, trapezoid, other custom geometries)
  • Available assemblies: retainer and flange seal assembly options
