Potassium titanyl phosphate (KTP) nonlinear crystal is a cost effective crystal for the second harmonic generation of neudymium based lasers like Nd:YAG, Nd:YVO4. KTP crystal has a high effective nonlinearity what allows to use relatively short crystals and gain high conversion efficiency in extracavity configuration when only single pass in nonlinear crystal is required. Because of wide transparency range KTP crystals could also be used in optical parametric oscillators (OPO) to generate up to 4 µm emission wavelength. KTP crystals grown by flux method due to photochromic effect (grey-tracking) are mostly used for low and medium power applications, when higher power and stability is needed hydrothermaly grown (HGTR) crystal should be the choice. At Photonic Solutions we offer KTP crystals grown by both of the methods.
