Radiometers and Thermometers
The Universal Calibrator (UC) system is used for calibration of temperature in Q-SUN xenon arc testers and irradiance in QUV accelerated weathering and Q-SUN testers. This system consists of irradiance and temperature "smart sensors" that can be used to calibrate all new Q-Lab testers. All smart sensors are affordably replaced or recalibrated yearly.
A handheld display unit is available that can be used to calibrate older testers, using the same UC smart sensors. Q-Lab also fully services and supports existing, legacy calibration radiometers and thermometers. Download our Universal Calibrator brochure for more information on the UC system
QUV Temperature Calibration
The QUV black panel temperature sensor needs to be calibrated periodically by the user to assure accurate and consistent results. Calibrating the QUV black panel temperature sensor is simply performed with any standard reference thermometer. Temperature sensors do not require normal replacement.
Q-SUN Temperature Calibration
All Q-SUN onboard black panel temperature sensors need to be calibrated periodically by the user to assure accurate and consistent results.
Calibrating Q-SUN onboard black panel temperature sensors is simple using the Universal Calibrator system’s UC202 calibrated temperature sensor, and takes only a few minutes. Note that UC202 thermometers come with either an uninsulated black panel (UC202/BP) or insulated black panel (UC202/IBP) sensor. This sensor must match the Q-SUN's onboard sensor. The low-cost, combination relative humidity/chamber air temperature is designed to be replaced once a year by the user and cannot be recalibrated.
