Introduction
The Qpress 50 is a modular hot mounting press for fast, simultaneous and independently controlled mounting of metallographic specimens. Its modular design allows configuration to specific production or laboratory needs, accommodating specimens of different sizes and materials. The 7” industrial touchscreen with intuitive QATM software provides user account management, preinstalled recipes and user-defined maintenance tasks. The unit combines fast cycle times and energy-efficient heating/cooling in a powder-coated steel housing.

Improved sliding closure
One-hand sliding closure includes an integrated suction nozzle. Excess granulate is diverted into a removable dirt trap when the mould is closed. The sliding closure can be lifted off for cleaning the upper flask.

User safety
The integrated Dust Guard exhaust protects operators from inhaling fine dust released during filling of mounting resin. The external extraction can be controlled via the base unit interface.

Ease of operation
The multifunctional button indicates the selected pressing unit and the operation state of the press. The 7” touchscreen and control software include preinstalled methods and consumables and allow storage of more than 200 user-defined mounting methods. User accounts with different access rights can be created.

Fast mounting cycle
Qpress 50 is engineered for short cycle times and includes a pre-heat function that reduces overall processing time compared to conventional hot mounting presses.

• Qpress 50-2: for small to medium throughput. Basic unit includes one pressing unit; expandable by one additional unit. Units operate independently and simultaneously.
• Qpress 50-4: for larger throughput. Basic unit plus up to three additional pressing units; up to 4 mounts can be produced simultaneously and independently. Mould diameters selectable individually.

Mounting – 4 easy steps

• 1. Fill the mould with the selected mounting material.
• 2. Close the sliding closure using one-hand operation.
• 3. Clean the dirt trap as excess material is automatically pushed into it.
• 4. Start the mounting program with the multifunctional button.

Accessories & consumables
Consumables by QPREP are recommended for reliable and efficient results. Available accessories include a recirculation cooling unit (adjustable water temperature, closed-loop circulation, low maintenance) and a range of mould assemblies in multiple sizes (with or without chamfer).
