Description

Introduction
The Qmount is a laboratory device for UV light‑curing mounting of materialographic samples. Samples are placed in UV‑transparent mounting moulds which are filled with UV curing resin and irradiated by LED arrays to obtain transparent mounts suitable for grinding, polishing and inspection.

Product advantages
  • Fast UV curing: standard samples cure in 60 seconds
  • LED emission peak at 365 nm for targeted polymerisation
  • Compact footprint with a 200 × 260 mm work plate
  • Simple user control via color display and rotary knob
  • Connection for external suction unit (optional)

Fast curing (60 s)
Durable LED boards emit UV radiation in a narrow wavelength band (emission maximum 365 nm) to achieve reproducible curing of standard samples within approximately 60 seconds, reducing process time and increasing throughput.

Temperature control and ventilation
Integrated ventilation maintains polymerisation temperatures in the range of approx. 70–90 °C. The enclosure is powder‑coated aluminium and designed for frequent laboratory use; the hood closes on cushioned hinges.

Sample capacity
The device includes a scratch‑resistant glass plate (200 × 260 mm) enabling simultaneous curing of up to 12 samples with a diameter of 40 mm. The simple interior geometry facilitates cleaning and routine maintenance.

Operation
Process parameters are displayed on a color screen and adjusted with a rotary knob. The mounting cycle is started, paused or stopped with the QATM start‑stop button and an acoustic signal indicates process end.

Applications
Short cycle times allow cost‑effective production of transparent materialographic mounts for metals, composites, electronic components and PCB targets, as well as sensitive or porous materials requiring low thermal stress.

Safety and accessories
The device is equipped with a connection for an external suction unit to filter vapors and odors; a QATM suction device with activated carbon filter is available as an accessory.
