Description

Overview
R&S®NGM200 DC power supplies are compact, high‑precision laboratory and test bench supplies with two‑quadrant operation. They provide fast load recovery and high readback resolution, enabling battery simulation, power‑consumption testing and supply of noise‑sensitive circuits.

Key facts
  • Total system power up to 120 W (model dependent)
  • Output voltage per channel: 0 V to 20 V
  • Maximum current per channel: up to 6 A (≤6 V) / 3 A (>6 V)
  • High‑speed data logging: up to 500 ksample/s (FastLog)
  • Compact dimensions and TFT touch display; USB/LAN remote control

Applications
  • Battery tests and battery‑behaviour simulation
  • Simulation of voltage drops and load transients
  • Power consumption and standby current characterization
  • Supplying sensitive measurement circuits and DUTs

Features & benefits
  • Battery simulation – Optional R&S®NGM‑K106 models battery characteristics (capacity, Voc, ESR) versus state‑of‑charge for realistic DUT powering.
  • High‑speed acquisition (FastLog) – Captures voltage and current up to 500 ksample/s (2 µs resolution); data stored to USB or transferred via USB/LAN; two‑channel models can sample both channels in parallel.
  • Digital voltmeter (DVM) – Optional R&S®NGM‑K104 activates an internal DVM port for measurement at any circuit point, reducing need for an external DMM.
  • 6½‑digit readback – Very high resolution for voltage/current/power measurements (down to µV / nA resolution depending on range).
  • Fast load regulation – Load recovery times < 30 µs for typical 10%→90% load steps within ±20 mV, preventing overshoot or voltage dips.
  • Low ripple/noise – Residual ripple < 500 µV RMS and < 2 mV p‑p (20 Hz–20 MHz), suitable for sensitive electronics.
  • Two‑quadrant operation – Source and sink capability for battery or load simulation; automatic mode switching and negative current indication when sinking.
  • Protection & utility functions – OVP/OCP/OPP/OTP, FuseLink, sense, output sequencing, trigger I/O, QuickArb arbitrary function, standard and FastLog data logging.
