Description

Overview
The R&S®MXO 4 series is a next‑generation oscilloscope family engineered for fast detection of signal anomalies, precise measurements and advanced spectrum analysis. It combines a high real‑time update rate, high vertical resolution and deep acquisition memory with a 13.3" Full HD capacitive touchscreen and an intuitive UI.

Key facts
  • Bandwidth options: 200 MHz – 1.5 GHz
  • Update rate: > 4.5 million waveforms/s; spectrum acquisition up to 50,000 FFT/s (up to 4 spectra)
  • Vertical resolution: 12‑bit ADC (up to 18‑bit HD mode), up to 10‑bit ENOB
  • Standard acquisition memory: 400 Mpoints per channel (optional 800 Mpoints interleaved)
  • Zone trigger on analog, spectrum and math

Next generation technology
The MXO 4 delivers 12‑bit ADC vertical resolution at all sample rates, very deep standard memory and a touch‑first user experience. Its architecture increases real‑time capture (up to ~90%) and enables precise low‑level measurements across the full analog bandwidth.

Features & benefits
  • Rapid anomaly detection: > 4.5M waveforms/s, up to 90% real‑time capture, fast automatic measurements including FFT and cursors
  • High measurement fidelity: 12‑bit ADC at all sample rates, HD mode to 18 bit, vertical scaling to 500 μV/div, wide offset range ±5 V
  • Long capture windows: 400 Mpoints standard memory per channel, segmented memory (10,000 segments), history mode (10,000 acquisitions)
  • Precise triggering: 1/10,000 div sensitivity, ~1 ps trigger jitter, trigger rearm < 21 ns, digital trigger filters and hysteresis
  • Advanced spectrum tools: up to ~45,000 FFT/s, RF controls, peak lists and max/min hold
  • Productivity: R&S®SmartGrid layouts, quick access UI, remote control capabilities

Applications
  • General electronics and RF testing
  • High‑speed digital interface debug and serial bus trigger/ decode
  • Power electronics, automotive and aerospace R&D
  • EMC debugging and lab/production test
