Description

Overview
The Salvagnini P4 panel bender integrates automatic bending and handling cycles with four universal bending tools (upper blade, lower blade, counterblade and blankholder) that adapt in-cycle to panel geometry. It enables flexible production modes — from batch-one and kit production to mixed small/large-part runs — without manual re‑tooling or machine stoppages.

Key product highlights
  • Automatic bending and handling cycles to increase throughput and reduce manual operations.
  • Universal tools process a wide material and thickness range (0.5–3.2 mm) within the same cycle.
  • In-cycle tool adaptation allows seamless switching between single-piece, kit and series production.
  • Sustainable drive concept: direct drive plus pneumatic/electric actuators for energy efficiency and safe operation.
  • Integrated adaptive system (sensors, bending formula, MAC3.0) for real-time compensation of material and environmental variability, reducing scrap and rework.
  • Industry 4.0 connectivity: LINKS, STREAM and OPS for machine-to-system integration and monitoring.
  • FACE HMI: unified, intuitive operator interface across the product range.
  • Modular automation: manual/automatic feeding, multiple unloading devices, P-Robot robotic cell integration.
  • Optional auxiliaries: CLA auxiliary blades, CUT/RP sequential cutting options, DPM manipulator for narrow parts, and more.

How it works
Four universal tools (upper blade, lower blade, counterblade, blankholder) operate within each cycle to process thicknesses from 0.5 to 3.2 mm without tool changes. Bending on each side is performed by controlled interpolated blade movements. The sheet is referenced once against mechanical stops to minimise cycle time; dimensional inaccuracies are compensated by the first bend.

Adaptive technologies and software
  • MAC3.0: integrated sensors, formulas and algorithms measure material characteristics in-cycle and automatically compensate for variations in thickness, deflection and temperature.
  • Bending formula: defines force and tool motion in real time for repeatable precision.
  • STREAM: programming suite to reduce setup time and improve reaction to process changes.
  • OPS: production management software for process optimisation and ERP/MRP exchange.
  • LINKS: IoT monitoring and efficiency analysis.

Applications
  • Automotive body panels and small stamped parts
  • Doors, frames and architectural façade/modular panels
  • Elevator components, refrigeration and appliance parts
  • Mixed production of small and large sheet-metal components

Available options & auxiliary devices
  • CLA auxiliary blades: modular positive/negative versions for tabs and short bends.
  • CUT: P-tool plus auxiliary blade for automatic sequential cutting; unloading belt on bladeholder for manual removal.
  • RP option: mover device + P-tool + auxiliary blade for sequential profile cutting with unloading belt.
  • DPM manipulator: suction-cup device for narrow parts or frames (min. width 105 mm); with specific P-tool can produce panels down to ~45 mm.
  • P-Robot: integrated robot application for autonomous kit, batch and single-part handling.
