Description

1: Opposite helical knurl bands provide balanced high torque and high pull-out performance 2: Suitable to direct heat or ultrasonic installation in 8 degree tapered hole 3: Designed for thermoplastic (PPS, ABS, PP, etc.) Model Code-A (Thread size) x L(Insert length)-OD(Insert diameter)+Material+Finish General description: Designed for installation in an 8° tapered hole where fasteners must be installed. The combination of angled knurling and upward vanes provides high torque and pull-out performance. Advantage: Designed for 8" tapered holes. High pull-out performance. High torque resistance. Flange prevents plastic spillage. Can be installed by heating or ultrasonic. Self-alignment. Installation: Fasteners can be installed using the preheat process or using the heat from ultrasonic vibrations. Where preheat is used, care must be taken to ensure that the fasteners soften but do not melt the plastic. This will avoid unsightly flashing on the top of the blade. Any trend, ultrasonic installations are best performed using low amplitude vibration and minimum power consistent with satisfactory softening of the plastic material. In either case, excessive pressure should be avoided as this could cause the insert to be forced into the hole without allowing the plastic to soften and flow around the surface contour.
