Surge Counters
  • 3EX5 030 surge counter: monitor integrated into the arrester ground connection to count surge responses.
  • 3EX5 050 surge counter with leakage current meter: counts responses and measures/displays leakage current.
  • Versions 3EX5 030-1 and 3EX5 050-1: optional passive auxiliary contact for remote metering.


Counter for remote monitoring (3EX5 060/062)
  • 3EX5 060 sensor: installed in the arrester ground wire; counts surge responses and continuously measures leakage current.
  • 3EX5 062 display: visualizes surge counts and leakage current remotely up to 200 m from the sensor; provides a connection for local leakage current measurement (e.g., oscilloscope with accessory measuring lead).


Arrester Condition Monitors (ACM)
  • Basic version (3EX5 080-0): measures total leakage current and surge impulses, performs 3rd harmonic analysis with network harmonic compensation, applies temperature correction and indicates condition via traffic-light LEDs; upgradeable.
  • Advanced version (3EX5 080-1): adds a wireless USB module for direct PC communication to enable detailed visualization, analysis, parameter configuration and software updates via the ACM Service Tool.
