OverviewCZone for Abaqus is an add-on for Abaqus/Explicit that implements a validated methodology for crush simulation of laminated composite structures. Based on the CZone technology from Engenuity Ltd., it enables inclusion of material crush behaviour in FEA to support design and validation of energy-absorbing composite components for automotive and aerospace applications.
Core functionalityCZone implements crush-based element force and failure directly in defined
crush zones, typically located at forward edges in contact with the impactor. Outside crush zones, the composite structure is modelled with Abaqus native features to capture delamination, damage, fracture and buckling.
