Next Level of Performance for Big Data and AI Having launched the world’s first DDR5 DRAM, SK hynix presents RDIMMs in 16-256GB capacities based on 16Gb or 24Gb DDR5, with substantial performance improvements over DDR4 RDIMMs that lead the next generation of memory module solutions. Higher Bandwidth, Faster Speeds Our 16Gb or 24Gb DDR5 RDIMM increases effective bandwidth by 70% over DDR4, while capable of data rates starting from 5,600Mbps and reaching beyond 6,400Mbps, ultimately targeting more than 2x speed improvement. Such gains reduce the number of servers needed for the same level of system performance and allow greener operation of datacenters, as intended by SK hynix’s Memory ForEST* vision. Double Sub-channel DRAM Architecture With a dual sub-channel structure, DDR5 RDIMM increases the number of CA (Command-Address) pins to seven double-data-rate CA buses each from host to RCD and 14 single-data-rate buses each on RCD to DRAM. Having two independent 40-bit channels thus enables 2x bandwidth and higher bus (signal) efficiency compared to a single-channel DDR4 DIMM. Diverse range of configurable capacities for greater user choice With DDR5 mono-die density that not only starts from 16Gb but also supports 24Gb, RDIMM modules of various capacities can be configured for each use case and needs, enabling low-power, high-capacity modules for cost savings.
