The image sensors for automotive from Sony Semiconductor Solutions Corporation (SSS) utilize technologies such as high dynamic range (HDR) imaging and LED flicker mitigation (LFM/LED Flicker Mitigation) to realize performance for the stable acquisition of high definition images in various automobile travel situations. For the areas of Automated Driving and Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS), we are promoting the development of products that can contribute to the safety and security of automobiles.
The products also comply with international standards such as IATF 16949, ISO 26262 and ISO/SAE 21434, as well as quality standards for reliability testing of Automotive electronic such as AEC-Q100.
Features
High resolution that boasts sufficient information volumes during wide-angle imaging
In general, if the resolution of the image sensor is kept the same, then widening the angle of view of the lens reduces the resolution (amount of information) per unit area of the image acquired.
Conversely, if the angle of view of the lens is narrow, it is possible to increase the resolution per unit area, but the area that can be imaged becomes smaller.
In order to widen the angle of view of the lens (and increase the area imaged) without reducing the resolution per unit of area, it is necessary to use a high resolution image sensor.
The SSS's lineup of automotive image sensors includes high resolution models, so it is possible to select the sensor to meet the needs of the customer.
