Description

Product overview
Felts and non-wovens are often dense and thick. Traditional hot-air drying systems are inefficient at transferring energy to inner layers for water evaporation or internal chemical reactions (e.g. melting or thermosetting of resins). As a result, conventional dryers can be very long and some processes must be run in batch ovens. For example, 6–12 cm thick wool felt disks used for automotive polishing can require several days to dry after impregnation in hot-air cabinets.

Radio Frequency drying advantages
  • Efficient drying of dense and thick felts and non-wovens.
  • Fast, uniform drying without surface overheating.
  • No wet spots and no migration of chemicals.
  • Reduces drying times from days to hours (example: felt disks can be dried in about 2 hours).

Applications
  • Thick woolen felt disks (e.g. automotive polishing pads) and similar felts.
  • Other non-woven fabrics where internal moisture removal or controlled resin reactions are required.

Technical specifications
  • Technology: Radio Frequency (RF) drying.
  • Suitable materials: felts and other dense non-wovens.
  • Example treated thickness: 6–12 cm wool felt disks (example cited on page).
  • Example performance: drying time reduced from several days with hot air to approximately 2 hours using RF (example cited on page).
  • Quality outcomes: uniform internal drying, prevention of surface overheating, avoidance of wet spots and chemical migration.
  • Process capability: enables fast in-line drying versus traditional batch ovens.
  • Visual references: page images may include labels such as 'RF60kW' (illustrative).
