OverviewThe GT-1200/600 series is a geodetic robotic total station designed for high-performance surveying and machine control. It integrates an Ultrasonic motor (USM) with Smooth Drive Control™ to improve prism tracking, increase rotation responsiveness and enhance motor durability. The product balances mobility and compactness with precision suitable for ICT construction and surveying workflows.
Key highlights- Ultrasonic motor direct drive (USM) for improved prism tracking speed
- Super-compact, highly mobile body for field deployment
- Robotic total station weight approx. 5.7 kg
- Manufactured to Topcon quality standards
- Compatible with ICT construction and surveying systems
Embedded Smooth Drive Control™Smooth Drive Control™ refines motor control to smooth rotational motion under varying conditions and extend ultrasonic motor life. High-speed rotation modes reduce time to rotate between faces and allow rapid acceleration/deceleration of the drive motor.
Auto-aiming and Auto-trackingAuto-aiming enables accurate measurement using a rough aim and a light press of the trigger without manual focusing. Auto-tracking and enhanced prism-tracking maintain operation under challenging conditions (obstructions, strong sunlight). Prism reacquisition is supported (example: with RC-5A) to resume tracking if lock is lost.
Hybrid Positioning / Survey WorkflowThe GT series supports an upgradable Hybrid Positioning Survey System allowing a one-button switch between robotic total station and GNSS receivers. Hybrid Search uses GNSS position data to direct the total station toward a prism. Use GNSS under open sky and the robotic total station where line-of-sight is required for continuous surveying.
Machine control and LPSOptional upgrades include LPS 3D-MC for 3D machine control. The robotic total station can act as a high-precision sensor for controlling heavy machinery in 3D without requiring open sky (examples: LPS Dozer, LPS Excavator, LPS Grader, LPS Compaction roller, LPS Paver).
Field communication and performanceHigh-rate data communication (10 Hz) supports faster stakeout and efficient survey workflows (application support planned). The instrument is designed for streamlined field operation and integration with ICT construction solutions.
Durability and environmentIP65 dustproof and waterproof construction provides protection against dust and driving rain. Operable in temperatures from -20°C to +50°C for reliable field use.
Operability and displayLarge high-resolution WVGA display with oversized icons improves usability and visibility in sunlight. A bright Guide Light with green and red indications aids stakeout alignment. Trigger-key operation allows rough aim and a light trigger press to perform automatic aiming and measurement.
Accessories / CompatibilityCompatible with standard surveying accessories and workflows (prism reacquisition, RC accessory series). Upgradable modules expand functionality to hybrid GNSS, LPS machine control and other Topcon systems.
