OverviewThe TRUMPF temperature control records thermal radiation on the component surface with an integrated pyrometer and regulates laser power to a set nominal temperature. It is designed for laser plastic welding and laser case hardening, delivering consistent results on complex geometries. With scanner optics the controller integrates into the PFO electronics; for fixed optics a compact control box is supplied.
Key benefits- Accurate process control – Adjustable nominal temperature and limit-value parameters for reproducible results.
- Seamless integration – Pyrometer mounted directly on the optics; parameterisation via TruControl.
- Traceability – Stored temperature data for quality records.
- Early detection – Trend indicator to spot slow process drifts.
Applications- Laser plastic welding – quasi-simultaneous method: Measures the joining zone temperature and regulates laser power to the nominal temperature for closed-contour welding with scanner optics.
- Laser plastic welding – contour method: Ensures uniform heat input when the component is rotated under a fixed beam for consistent seam quality.
- Laser case hardening: Measures surface temperature during hardening and controls laser power spatially to avoid heat accumulation at edges, holes and corners, achieving uniform hardness depth; scanner optics and oscillating beams enable varied geometries and track widths.

Additional product informationThe pyrometer is mounted directly on the optics; with scanner integration the controller is part of the PFO electronics. Fixed-optics versions include a compact control box. Stored temperature data supports traceability and the system adapts laser power when temperature behaviour deviates due to material variations or impurities.
