OverviewThe yarn defect sensor WeftMaster® FALCON-i is an optical sensor that detects the smallest yarn defects, knots and other irregularities in filament yarns and tapes used in the production of technical fabrics.
Key functions- Real-time detection of knots, fluff, filamentation, stretch faults and similar irregularities
- Autonomous operation with an intuitive user interface
- Quality level selection with one button
Adaptive quality control / Installation positions- Between cone and prewinder — prevents knots being erroneously woven
- Between prewinder and weft sensor — detects defects occurring on prewinder or deflections
- After weft sensor — detects defects that can occur on prewinder, weft sensor or deflections
Application examples- Carbon fabrics — ensures the fabric quality required for lightweight composite parts
- Tire cords — supports zero-defect production for safety-relevant textile components
- Sailcloth — used for high-performance fabrics that must retain shape and resist environmental stress
Performance and compatibility- Suitable for filament yarns and tapes of any color, including conductive materials, monofilament and multifilament yarns
- Designed for reliable operation under machine vibrations and at high speeds (documented up to 30 meters/second)
- Examples of detectable fault types shown in product imagery: fluff, stretch faults, filamentation and related faults
Media- Product brochure (English) is available
- Product animation / demonstration video available
