PTFE Tape Our PTFE Tape, also known as Teflon tape or Plumbers Tape, is designed for us in threaded pipes and connectors. PTFE tape has a temperature and a tensile strength of 10Mpa. PTFE Tape is perfect for sealing applications and is resistant to almost all chemicals. This tape is used to prevent fluid and pressure loss whens used as thread seal tape. PTFE Sealing Tape comes in two colours, for use in two different applications. Yellow PTFE Tape is suitable for use with gas and hot water pipes and has a thickness of 0.2mm and is it made to BS6920. White PTFE Tape is WRAS approved, suitable for use with water only, has a thickness of 0.08mm and is made to BS4375. We stock both types of PTFE pipe tapes, which come in 12mm widths.
