PTFE tape is also commonly known as Teflon tape or by its full technical name polytetrafluoroethylene tape. It is a versatile sealing solution that is valued for its high resistance to temperature and chemicals, and its ability to form airtight seals when applied to threaded pipes and connectors. PTFE tape has an operating temperature range of -190°C to +370°C and a tensile strength of 10Mpa. This makes the tape essential to the plumbing industry, HVAC systems and many other industries that rely on pipework. It also means that it is generally the product that people are thinking of when they refer to pipe tape. Likewise a customer searching for tape for pipes will likely find that ptfe tape is a suitable product for their needs.
