General description
The OCTOPUS system is a modular vacuum gripping solution for palletising robots and industrial vacuum handling. It grips objects of many shapes and materials (except highly transpiring items) and can lift loads even when contact covers a small portion of the suction plate. Systems are available in multiple sizes and configurations and can be supplied with different suction plates or vacuum generators on request.

Standard composition

• One or more compressed-air-fed vacuum generators (often ordered separately depending on model).
• An anodised aluminium open box with integrated stainless-steel micro-mesh filter to protect the generator.
• Anodised aluminium suction plate with equidistant calibrated holes, coated with perforated foam rubber to adapt to smooth, rough or irregular surfaces.

• Adapts to a wide variety of surfaces (cardboard, pallets, jars, cans, tiles, metal profiles, bags).
• Can grip when object covers a small percentage of the plate; lifting force scales with effective contact area.
• Multiple sizes and configurations: small units, multi-generator units, mounting bars for robots, and custom/3D‑printed variants.
• Interchangeable suction plates (PX, P2X, PH, P2H, PY, P2Y, PV, P2V, PJ, etc.) to match application needs.

Suction plate types and usage

• PX / P2X: standard foam-coated plates (PX ≈15 mm foam; P2X ≈30 mm).
• PH / P2H: sponge-rubber plates for empty cans, jars, vials (not for empty plastic/glass bottles with liquids without testing).
• PXE / P2XE: PX/P2X with per-hole shut-off valves to save energy and allow any installation orientation.
• PY / P2Y: high-force plates for very rough/uneven surfaces; available with shut-off valves.
• PV / P2V: plates fitted with vacuum cup supports (recommended bellows cups). Cup support sizes: PV 1/8" gas, P2V 1/4" gas; max cup diameters depend on plate family.
• PJ: bag-gripping plates for paper/plastic bags containing powders, granules or liquids.

Gripping bars and mounting

• Slotted anodised aluminium fixing plates for quick robot mounting.
• One or more vacuum generators depending on bar size; quick coupling for compressed air feed.
• Open box with inlet connections for atmospheric restoration and room for vacuum switch installation.
