Characteristics

Applications
for sludge dewatering, for wastewater treatment

Description

Overview
SEPCOM Tapioca Horizontal is a horizontal screw‑press solids–liquid separator engineered for continuous industrial separation and solids compaction. It is suitable for digestate from biogas plants, industrial sludges, livestock slurry and other fibrous or heterogeneous solids–liquid mixtures.

Function
The machine combines gravity drainage and mechanical compression via a screw conveyor and a cylindrical screen basket. Solids are conveyed and compacted toward a counter‑pressure diaphragm which forms a material plug, enabling automatic operation and preventing liquid bypass. The separated liquid and solid phases are handled independently for cost‑efficient downstream processing.

Construction and main components
The feed section includes a compensator hopper tank and overflow hopper. The stainless‑steel casing houses the screw conveyor and cylindrical screen basket. Drive is provided by an electric motor and gear reducer with a splined output shaft directly coupled to the screw. Modular SINT polymer screws or specialised stainless‑steel screws are available depending on the application.

Features
  • Modular SINT engineering‑polymer screws for reduced wear and economical spare parts
  • Durable, high‑performance self‑cleaning screen basket
  • Designed for continuous duty industrial operation
  • Max hydraulic throughput: 65 m3/h
  • Max dry solids in separated solid: up to 32%
  • Dry solids in separated liquid: < 5%

Benefits
  • High separation efficiency with reduced maintenance frequency
