Description

Overview The Weishaupt hybrid heat pump intelligently combines a heat pump and a gas condensing boiler to provide operational flexibility, continuity of service and reduced carbon footprint. It is particularly suited to renovation projects where high-temperature heat production is required.

Application While a heat pump alone may be sufficient for new builds or low-temperature emitters, the hybrid solution is designed to operate with existing heating circuits fitted with high-temperature radiators. When the heat pump becomes less efficient (very low outdoor temperatures or when high water temperatures are required), the gas condensing boiler automatically takes over.

Installation and renovation advantages
  • Lower costs: avoids extensive renovations such as replacing radiators or installing underfloor heating.
  • Phased renovation: the heat pump module can be fitted later; the double-decoupling hydraulic principle allows the boiler to operate alone initially or the heat pump to be added as an "add-on".

Control and energy optimization
  • Optimized energy costs: the controller constantly compares the efficiency of the generators (based on outdoor temperature and supply temperature) and operates the most efficient one. The user can adjust energy prices in the controller if needed.
  • Emissions-aware strategy: the controller can prioritize the generator with the lowest CO2 emissions at a given time, switching to the more carbon-efficient source according to external conditions.
  • Clean electricity consumption: photovoltaic self-production can be integrated into the control strategy to favour operation of the heat pump using self-generated electricity.

Safety and reliability
  • Grants and regulatory compatibility: the Weishaupt hybrid unit is eligible for renovation incentives (Coup de pouce, MaPrimeRénov') and compatible with comprehensive renovation pathways; in new buildings it can help meet RE2020 Ic thresholds.
  • Operational safety: the double hydraulic decoupling increases operational safety; failure of one generator (boiler or heat pump) does not prevent the other from operating.
  • Reliable combination: integration of a condensing boiler, a heat pump, a control system and hydraulic components for maximum flexibility, safety, efficiency and reliability.
