MCF manufactured by YOEC is a new type of fiber with multiple independent cores in a common cladding area. According to the core space, it can be divided into MCF with large core space and small core space. MCF with large core space do not produce optical coupling, which can improve the optic transmission density per unit area of transmission line. MCF with small core space can produce light-wave coupling due to the close distance between the core. The dual core sensors or loop optic devices developed based on this principle can be used in the field of fiber sensing.
