Description

Chrome plated steel tubes are used to build hydraulic cylinders. The chrome surface is giving good wear and corrosion resistance. Chrome plated steel tubes have good durability and help diminishing friction. It has been proven that chrome plated steel tubes can be used as piston rods in order to have a lighter hydraulic cylinder. Chrome plate tubes are known as chrome plate hollow bars also, they are made of cold drawn seamless tubes or hollowed bars, by grinding and precision polishing on the outside diameter and then chrome plated to a certain thickness on the OD. So in North America, they also called chrome plated OD tubing. Materials of our chrome plated tubes Our chrome plated OD tubing is manufactured from top quality carbon steel seamless tubes or hollowed bar. The steel grades available in St 52.3, St37.4, E355, SAE 1020, SAE 1026 and so on. Size Range We can make chrome plated tubes/chrome plated hollow bars in a wide range of sizes as below : O.D: 15 mm to 609 mm, W.T: 1 mm to 40 mm. Both metric and imperial sizes chrome plated tubes are available upon clients’ request. Some diameters may be subject to a minimum quantity requested. Length Lengths may vary depending on the chroming process used. Dimension Tolerance Chrome plated tube usually has a very precision outside diameter tolerance, because they are used as hydraulic piston rods. Our O.D tolerance of chrome plate tube can be ISO f7, f8 and we can provide special tolerance at a premium price. The surface requirement of Chrome plate tubing Our factory can produce chrome plated tube with O.D surface roughness below Ra 0.4 microns.
