Description: Single wound laminar sealing rings “FK3 AS” are outside clamping single rings (3 rings = 1 set) used as a grease seal for roller and plain bearings; when greased they protect against dust entry and ambient moisture. The combined ring sets “FK3 ASK” (additional sealing of the groove base diameter) optimize the sealing effect due to the increased labyrinth effect. The “FK3 AS” or “FK3 ASK” assemblies are normally preferred over the “FK3 IS” or “FK3 ISK” assemblies due to their easier installation into the grooves. Depending on the applications or the technical requirements, the single turn laminar sealing ring carriers can be manufactured from steel, cast iron, light alloy or plastics. The laminar sealing ring is an annular cover composed of one or several parts, which is fixed on a ring or washer on the bearing, and contacts with another ring or washer or forms a narrow labyrinth gap, which can prevent the leakage of lubricating oil and the external intrusion.

Precautions during installation of single turn laminar sealing ring

• Ensure that the edges or transition holes are chamfered and burrs are removed
• Check that there is no problem with the surface of the seal
• Clean all residues left by processing
• The threads of the installation path should be covered with protective sleeves
• The installation surface of the sealing ring needs to be coated with lubricating grease to facilitate installation
• Do not use sharp tools during manual installation
• Do not stretch the laminar sealing ring too much
