Along with the mechanically operated limit switches, magnetic reed switches (magnetically operated) have been constantly gaining increased importance. They can be regarded as a complement to the plunger, roller and turret head operated limit switches and as an important addition to electronic proximity switches.

So that the customer gets the best equipment solution according to his requirements, we recommend this simple
procedure using the following pages:
• Define the dimension of the interface (mounting possibilities)
• Find out the operating conditions, min. and max. operating temperature and and the ambient temperature
concerning the resistance of the housing material.
• With the size of the fitting and material of the housing, a guide specification can be selected on pages
154 to 159.
• The full and final specification can now be generated by reference to the „type key“ on pages 160 to 161.
• With the type description and the technical operating conditions a price quotation can be made or the
instrument can be ordered.
• Specification of the requested approval.

Features:
* Sealed watertight per IP68.
* Snap-in panel mounting into industry standard 1.45 x .83 panel cutout.
* Unique lighting options up to three independent LED light positions.
* Lighted button.
* 3 positions in all combinations of momentary and maintained action.
* Termination options include .250" fast on, solder lug or a snap on modular connector.
Used in the heavy equipment, marine, process control and instrumentation markets the R2 rotary switch is an excellent replacement for rocker switches offering improved visual position indication, additional lighting options and different styling opportunities on front panels. The R2 series is a sealed, lighted rotary switch which snaps into a 1.45 x .830" industry standard rocker switch panel opening. The rotary knob snaps on to a shaft and can be installed by the panel builder for those desiring that flexibility. The R2 rotary switch provides 3 positions in all combinations of momentary and maintained action. It is capable of handling loads from logic level to 20 amps (resistive). Sealing is to IP68 (1 meter immersion) via a shaft o-ring seal in front and a potted base in the back. Termination options include .250" fast on, solder lug or a snap on modular connector. The R2 offers unique lighting options including up to three independent LED light positions which illuminate a lens on the rotary knob. The bezel and the knob can be pad printed, sublimated or laser etched with symbols and legends as needed. This design provides more legend and lighting options than traditional rocker switches, handles the full range of electrical loads and is robust enough to survive in the most demanding applications.

Obsolete 2001-09-17 Surgector® Thyristors for Teleco Protection This Product is Obsolete. For new Designs use the SIDACtor PxxxxS_ Series devices. Designed to suppress lightning and other transients, Surgector suppressors are primarily intended for operation on the telephone line "tip and ring" environment in order to protect telecommunications CPE and COE products in conjunction with the Littelfuse 461 series Telecom Nano2 fuse. These devices provide secondary protection for telecommunication equipment such as telephone, MODEM, line card and other devices subject to damage from transient over voltage events. Surgectors can be an integral part of a Telephone Line Protector Unit, meeting AC Power Cross criteria when used in association with properly selected resistor/PTC/fuse combinations such as the Littelfuse 461 series fuse. Littelfuse Surface Mount Surgectors are manufactured using silicon thyristor technology, offering bi-directional voltage clamping for transients of either polarity from a single chip. The Surgector devices described in this data sheet are manufactured with the DO-214AA low profile case style and are second source equivalent parts to industry “SIDAC” types. Surface Mount Surgector Suppressors are supplied in embossed carrier tape on 330mm (13in) reels.
