WhizIn, another revolutionizing patented product developed by WhizCut, is designed to improve productivity of internal applications. It has been specially developed for small diameters in internal turning applications, and is unlike anything else on the market.
The WhizIn tool holder has the carbide bar mounted at an angle to achieve the maximum stability for a set diameter. By grinding away less from the base of the insert, the insert becomes more stable. Other benefits are less grinding time and grinding stress and that the coolant may go through the tool holder and spray directly on to the cutting zone. |
|
| A boring tool is usually a modular tool, consisting of a basic holder, adapter and a cutting unit in the form of a cartridge, slide or fine boring unit. A fine boring head holds a bore bar or cartridge. A reamer has a tool shank and a close pitch head with brazed blades. The tools, except the reamer, are radially adjustable within a specific diameter range. |
|
Designed with a length to diameter ratio of approximately 4-1/2 to 1 , this line of carbide boring tools features set-screw flats that position the cutting edge on exact centerline when used in a Criterion Reaming head.
They are available in two all-purpose grades of carbide - the ABT tools are a grade C-2 and are used on cast iron and all non-ferrous materials. The SBT tools are a grade C-6 and are intended for use on steel and other continuous chip materials. For the correct grade for your particular job we suggest you contact your carbide supplier or you may refer to the comparison charts found in most carbide catalogs.
Carbide Boring Tools with minimum boring diameters of 1/8, 3/16 and 1/4 feature a solid carbide neck and head. |

CTW TM Technology
The geometry has been developed to incorporate CTWTM (Continuously thinned web ) Technology. This means that when the user re-point grinds the professional drill, the resultant point is already thinned.

METRIC SIZES from 3mm to and including 16mm
SGS Tool Company adds to its High Performance Professional drill line with the introduction of Ice-Carb, an Internal Coolant Drill for drilling depths up to 7 x Diameter.
ICe-Carb%u2019s unique geometry features enhance coolant flow and chip removal. Each tool comes with SGS%u2019 exclusive Ti-NAMITE-A (AlTiN) tool coating for higher thermal stability and greater wear resistance in deep hole drilling.
The tool%u2019s drilling depth potential eliminates the need for pecking in most applications and the corner protection increases tool life. |

CoroDrill Delta-C R846
Sandvik Coromant has developed a new professional drill, CoroDrill Delta-C R846, for Heat Resistant Super Alloy machining in aerospace applications, such as the production of gas turbine casings. The new drill is designed for the continuous and reliable production of holes in demanding HRSA materials, which place heavy demands on the cutting edge. The geometry of the new CoroDrill Delta-C is optimised for maximum efficiency in repeat short hole drilling. The new cutting edge has a more consistent curve for added strength in the outer corners where cutting forces can be highest in demanding applications. This distributes the cutting forces evenly over the cutting edge – giving an even wear without sudden changes.
CoroMill Plura
The CoroMill Plura solid carbide endmill family covers most milling applications from roughing to superfinishing, keyslot milling and chamfering.
The endmills are designed with several length options to maximise productivity from short to long reach. They are supplied in diameters from 0.4 - 25 mm and also available in an multi-edged version for super finishing and a spherical version for optimised accessibility.
CoroMill Plura endmills are supplied in three different carbide grades covering wet and dry milling in steels, stainless steels, cast iron, heat resistant super alloys, hardened materials as well as aluminium. |
