SOMEX, a leading supplier for machining units, is proud to announce the addition of its new MAX100B to help bridge the gap between existing units, the MAX45B and the MAX200B.
Now, we can deliver compact and rigid machining units to the automotive industry which are capable to produce larger hole sizes. Most of its design features are based on a well proven model, the BEX35.
With a torque limit up to 1000Nm and electric motor capacity up to 15kW, the MAX100B can perform drilling operations up to Ø 55mm based on mild steel material with 600 N/mm2 tensile strength.
Advantages include : Small envelope to capacity ratio, 90mm ID spindle bearing size and spindle executions in ISO 40, ISO 50 and HSK 100 design. |

Designed with screws through the endcap and an extra-wide body, extra stability results from a two-piece stainless steel housing with integral shank and triple ceramic bearings for precise concentricity of 0.0002" (0.00508mm). The 275JS has extra durability to work with harder materials. Compact and easily installed with a 1" or 25mm straight shank for easy mounting to CNC machines or tool holders. For drilling applications, specify angular contact bearings. Our double turbine X units provide extra power where required. (up to 1.4 HP (1.04 kW)

In 2004 OMLAT spa studied and realised several electric spindle applications for grinding, with the technical characteristic of having hydrostatic bushes instead of ball bearings.
This concept (an oil cushion with approx. 60 bar pressure) makes it possible to obtain a dynamic rigidity that is more than three times that obtained with the mechanical solution (ball bearings) and consequently guarantees a very high quality finish.
These spindles have been constructed for tangential grinding machines, for the large size bearings sector and for the rolling cylinder grinding sector.
Both asynchronous and synchronous motors have been used able to fully meet the project requirements regarding performance (power and rotation speed), together with a very low vibration level, appropriate for high-precision machining.
With the high rigidity obtained by this system, last generation tools can be used to full advantage, ensuring the best output and long life.
Here we indicate the speed range of the hydrostatic electrospindles.

Where there are extreme requirements for running precision and damping, e.g. for fine boring, fine turning or for table mountings, the use of motor spindles with plain bearings is recommended. WEISS GmbH offers a broad range of products for this, including spindle units with both hydrodynamic and hydrostatic bearings.
Thanks to their separating oil film, WEISS motor spindles with plain bearings ensure uniform machining quality over an extremely long period, in addition to maximum precision and extremely long service lives. The truths of running and axial runout precisions attainable are generally less than 1 µm. Particularly with spindles with hydrodynamic bearings, a wider speed range can be covered with the same oil viscosity due to the flexible structure of the hydrodynamic bearings (skids). |

Hyperspin is a spindle range that includes magnetic bearings, motor (synchronous or asynchronous), housings, controller and cabling. Hyperspin is available in speeds up to 60,000 rpm and power rating from 0.3 to 55 kW.
The shaft has a versatile interface for mounting different types of payload. Shaft extensions can be customized to suit each application's payload requirements whether it's a turbopump impeller or a unique neutron absorbing disk.

In order to accomplish the complete processing of workpieces on a center lathe, there are machines, whose acquisition is extremely complex very expensively and programming.
Our proposal for solution aims there that with a relatively simple accessory equipment, which can be to a large extent completely finished worked on turned parts.
This accessory equipment, briefly "MILLINGFIXED" called, can both on conventional and cycle-steered center lathes, to be simply post and/or rigged.
To the temporary storage facilities of turned parts, renewed rigging to a second machine, double expenditure of time, as well as high acquisition value are allotted. Complex programming and an impaired work space are omitted likewise by the employment "MILLINGFIXED".
We are convinced of the fact that this innovative solution will be in particular for manufacturing and repair shops relating to crafts, as well as very useful for school and training. |

We are currently offering an undisputed technological lead in geared motor spindles for turning and milling at high torques. Geared motor spindles for milling are primarily used for heavy-duty machining, the machining of titanium and in shipbuilding.
Geared spindles have smaller rotating masses compared to existing assemblies with an external drive and run more quietly and with less vibration. Comparatively good machining standards are achieved for planing. While maintaining the radial dimensions and motor performance, the usable torque of the motor can be increased 4-fold. This allows considerable expansion of the machining range of a machine, particularly for rough-machining, i.e. more machining tasks can be performed with different cutting speeds (different materials) with small and larger tools. |

Modern spindle units for effective milling results
