AUTOMATED BLAST SYSTEMS
Repeatable quality and increased productivity
Multiblast® automated blast systems with multiple guns are designed and engineered to ensure a high level of process and machine control. This ensures an accurate, consistent and uniform finish to every part. By eliminating the variations inevitable in hand processing, component quality, cost control and productivity can be dramatically increased.
With Guyson’s extensive range of automated systems we are able to carefully match the machine to your production flow requirements - the systems can be designed as rotary or reciprocating machines returning the parts to the load station, as in-line systems moving the components on to the next process, or as batch systems for tumble blasting small components.
|
|
These automated machines are used for small, series-produced components.
Workpieces are generally processed on an indexing turntable. Lifting doors prevent the escape of abrasive and dust.
Additional strip brushes are fitted when continuous blasting is required.
Rotational speed of satellites as well as vertical and horizontal movements of nozzles are fully adjustable.
The turntable may be indexed in steps with 1, 2 or 4 pieces ea.
In the basic version automated turntable machines comprise a single blasting station.
The workpiece is loaded manually and processed by one or several nozzles.
Automated pass-through machines offer the same workpiece and nozzle manipulation options as automated turntable machines.
A conveyor belt transports workpieces.

Blasting Range - Blasting Nozzles
The CMV blasting nozzles feature a hard metal core (tungsten dicarbide) with very high resistance to abrasion. Several designs have been developed in order to obtain the best efficiency of compressed air, abrasive material, and manpower, in several applications. The housing system protects the core against occasional shocks (impacts). The fastening system meets the international standards, and enables the use of CMV nozzles on equipment of other brand names. We can optionally supply nozzles with a core in boron carbide or silicon carbid

Pre-Assembled Blast Rooms
As the name says, these blast rooms arrive at your site ready to install. Connect the components and add power and air. Because the room must ship via truck, room dimensions are limited to 14 feet by 7 feet by 8 feet tall. The room includes full area recovery - pneumatic or mechanical - as well as lights, control panel, one full-width, full-height door, and a separate personnel door. You can select the blast machine package (one or more operators), dust collection (recovery only or full room), media reclamation system (air wash or cyclonic), blast suit and respirator, and any special parts-handling equipment you need.

The manual shot-blasting rooms are designed and fabricated according to the size requested by the customer. They may have one or two main doors for material access.
The structure of the room may consist either of steel walls or self-bearing panels with polyurethane insulation. The internal walls are lined with wear-proof rubber. The floor is made of steel grating, which cover the automatic recovery system for abrasive.
The material handling can be done by trolleys or by overhead crane.
|
|
Blast rooms are large blasting enclosures designed to handle work too large even for the biggest blast cabinet. A blast room contains both the work piece and the operator. A dust collection system provides visibility; recovery floor sections convey the spent abrasive to an abrasive cleaning system which returns only good abrasive to the blast machine. The following are common applications for blast rooms:
- Large Steel Fabrications or Members
- Military or Commercial Vehicles
- Aircraft
- Rail Cars
- Construction Equipment
- Anything else too big or awkward to fit in a hand cabine
Blast rooms consist of several key components that need to work in harmony with each other, and need to be selected based upon the specific needs of the application:
- Enclosure
- Dust Collector
- Abrasive Recovery Floor
- Abrasive Reclamation and Cleaning System
|
|
Walk-in blast rooms can accommodate big and extra-big components.
The waffle-floor system requires no mechanical recovery systems such as screw conveyors, bucket elevators etc. which are subject to high wear.
Contrary to conventional blast rooms our waffle-floor blast rooms require no pits or foundations.
Existing rooms can easily be retrofitted with the waffle-floor systems.
Using the air flow from the dust collector the spent abrasive is collected in the waffle floor having a thickness of 220 to 260 mm only, and picked up from there.
The whole base area serves for recovering; air inlet baffles are distributed over the room ceiling.
Due to the vertical downdraught ventilation produced inside the enclosure the dust is immediately trapped. This principle guarantees excellent visibility which is unknown with conventional systems and greatly increases productivity.

Super Comet
With a No. 3 nozzle, the Super Comet cleans a path about 1-inch wide, at up to 72 inches per minute. With 20 feet of hose, the four-wheel cart moves easily on any smooth, level surface. The built-in 1/2 cubic foot, ASME-coded pressure vessel features an adjustable metering valve to handle all common non-metallic recyclable abrasives. A storage hopper holds the recovered media and refills the pressure vessel when the operator releases the remote control handle. The system has a built-in moisture separator, pressure regulator, and gauge. The dust collector houses 12 cotton sateen filter tubes.
|
|
The range of the Matravac type constitutes processing machines by impact mobiles and work in closed circuit.
Projection and instantaneous recovery are carried out directly on the level of the gun without fear of projection of dust.
According to the shape of the part to be treated, one will adapt an adequate type of brush (brushes cylindrical hairs short or long, angle brushes...)
Do not bring any more the part to shot-blasting... Amenez shot-blasting at piece-rates!

|
|
These units feature a unique closed-circuit system, i.e. immediately after the blast media has been thrown onto the workpiece it is recovered and recycled. This ensures a consistent quality of the abrasive and minimises consumption.
You are free to blast anywhere in open or closed environments, without interfering with other activities nearby - with no pollution.
Closed-circuit machines have been designed for heavy-duty industrial applications.
They are available with air ejector or vacuum pump (side-channel exhauster) to generate the recovery air flow.
Problast closed-circuit systems are suitable for cylindrical workpieces and flat surfaces. A typical application is the surface treatment of rollers.
But there are numerous other workpieces and applications for which the closed-circuit system represents an ideal solution, for instance the cleaning of welds. This makes pickling as well as grinding and polishing of the surfaces superfluous.

Use
The ducts have been studied in order to guarantee the greater use flexibility in single or centralised gas exhaust extraction systems. They are used largely in the Automotive sector considering that one aspiration collector only can serve many aspiration points connecting “TGA” flexible hoses to “CST” sliding trolleys or “ASC” reels realised to guarantee the manual or mechanical movement lengthways the aspiration axis. The system supplied pre-assembled and complete with instructions in order to simplify the different ceiling or wall mounted installations allows the connection of the duct to the centrifugal fan to facilitate the expulsion outside of the gases.
