Ashland Inc. DERAKANE* 8084 epoxy vinyl ester resin is an elastomer modified resin designed to offer increased adhesive strength, superior resistance to abrasion and severe mechanical stress, while giving greater toughness and elongation.
This resin is often used for example as a primer to prepare a substrate surface (steel or concrete) for application of a corrosion resistant lining. The superior elongation and toughness provide FRP equipment with better impact resistance and less cracking due to cyclic temperature, pressure fluctuations and mechanical shocks.
This resin has exhibited chemical resistance across a broad range of acids, bases and organic chemicals for use in many chemical processing industry applications.

Bisphenolic gelcoats have the maximum heat and chemical resistance compared to all gelcoat groups. Therefore these gelcoats are widely used in chemical industry where high temperature and chemical resistance is necessary.
Polijel 291 is a bisphenolic based, thixotropic, high reactive gelcoat.
It is used for top level chemical and temperature resistant applications.
The most important feature of gelcoat is not effected many chemicals even at high temperature.
Polijel 291 is used especially production of industrial process equipments, chemical tanks, mould production and for surface coatings againts corrosion.
To obtain the maximum resistance levels avoid using pigment and filler much.

The resins in this group enable, hand lay up, spray up and continuous laminating process systems. Automotive parts, city furniture, modular cabins, bus, lorry parts, yachts, boats and similar parts can be manufactured with GRP type resins. Also you can refer to the general purpose resins section for similar resin types.
Polipol 339-T is an orthophtalic based, thixotropic, unsaturated polyester resin.
Polipol 339-T is made for obtaining GRP products from hand lay up and spray up systems. In automotive industry it is used for producing complete cabins and equipment parts, complete tractors and heavy-duty vehicle cabins and caravans.
Also Polipol 339-T is used in the production of yachts-boats and modular cabins.
It can easily wet fiberglass, and it will not drip down vertical surfaces because of its thixotropy. Because of this property, there will be no local shrinkage and this property provides a non-wavy and homogenous final product.
Polipol 339-T can safely be used in fields where big dimensioned perfect surface smoothness is requested like bus, lorry-truck and sea boats-yachts.
Polipol 339-T contains a blue colored Mek-p indicator, its color disappears after a couple of minutes when it's mixed with Mekp. As known the addition of Mek-p to resin is done automatically at the gun section. If there is a malfunction in the pump or a problem in the system, resin's color will not change on the mould and the fault will be understood so the needed
precautions will be taken and big losses could be prevented at the beginning.

PRIME™ 20LV - Epoxy Infusion System
- Very low viscosity
- Variable infusion times
- Very low exotherm even in thick sections
- Suitable for infusing very large structures
- Lloyds and Germanischer Lloyds approved
PRIME™ 20LV is the next generation of PRIME™ 20 epoxy infusion system, which is specifically designed for use in a variety of resin infusion processes including RTM (resin transfer moulding), SCRIMP™ and RIFT (resin infusion under flexible tooling).
PRIME™ 20LV has a much reduced viscosity resin and longer working time, which makes it ideal for infusing very large parts with complex reinforcements in one operation. It maintains the exceptionally low exotherm characteristic, which allows thick sections to be manufactured without risk of premature gelation due to the heat of exothermic reaction. This low exotherm will also help to extend the life of mould tools.
PRIME™ 20LV has been used successfully for the single-operation moulding of components ranging from narrow carbon yacht masts, up to 80' yacht hulls and wind turbine blades. It achieves excellent mechanical and physical properties from a moderate (50°C) postcure, offering the finished laminate properties that lie between hand lamination and low-temperature cure prepreg processes.
The PRIME™ 20LV system is available with three hardeners, offering a range of working times and cure speeds. This enables the geltime of the resin to be more closely matched to the required infusion time for any particular size of moulded part.

Low viscosity epoxy resin system Epilox® M 730 + Epilox® - hardener M 903 is a laminating system with very long potlife. Larger batch sizes in areas with warmer climate are thus processable. The mix is warmed up to 50 °C until gelation has occurred. Post-curing is performed at ca 80 °C.
Curing schedule: Pre-heating of the resin/hardener mix to 50 °C, keeping 50 °C for 30 min, heating to 80 °C, keeping 80 °C for 1.5 - 2 h.
The system is preferably used for sewage renovation because it does not attack polyurethane films which cover the pipes.
