If you thought it couldn’t be done think again. Silverson’s mighty Disintegrator 2500 mixing system will disintegrate, solubilise or disperse the largest of solids - up to 40’ (1000mm) across – in a single operation and in times you wouldn’t believe!
The D2500 incorporates a powerful and unique Silverson mixer located in the bottom of a custom-built vessel. The mixer exerts a massive suction downwards from the surface of the liquid, pulling down even the most buoyant of solids, no matter what the size. These solids are literally ripped apart and dispersed throughout the mix, and with the refinement of a Silverson In-Line Mixer, included in the system, are totally solublised or suspended.

NHS Hybridizer: Innovative composites by powder surface modification
The Hybridization system of company NARA (NHS) was developed in order to produce new combinations of finest particles with exactly those characteristics previously defined by the customer.
Due to the specific selection of the powder components it is possible to improve the characteristics of particles e.g. the flowability, to add new physical functions to one of the powders or to generate characteristic combinations with brand-new properties.
Classifying the type of modifications realized, there are three major processes to distinguish:
Embedding: Small particles (10 nm to 50 µm) are embedded into the surface of a core material (1-500 µm)
Coating: Using the same particle sizes as for the embedding process, the result of this procedure is an even film (resin or wax) wrapped around the solid core material
Rounding: Improvement of material properties e.g. by rounding of uneven surfaces or by increasing the material bulk density.
The desired material properties can be modularly combined to give a tailor made product, meeting the requirements of any specific application.

The Duplex is an immersion mixer which consists of two rotor/stator workheads mounted on a single shaft. The upper workhead is inverted so that it draws materials down from the surface of the mix and subjects them to an initial coarse disintegration. The lower workhead then draws this liquid and solid material upwards from the base of the vessel and provides further high shear processing. This system can rapidly reduce solids to a fine particle size, resulting in considerably faster disintegration and solubilisation. The improved product movement produced by the two workheads also makes the Duplex ideal for use on high viscosity materials and for incorporation of powders which tend to float and are difficult to wet out.
The Duplex was originally designed for rapid disintegration and solubilisation of solid rubbers and polymers for the luboil and adhesive industries. However, the considerable advantages offered by the system has led to its introduction into other applications, including in the food, chemical, cosmetic, pharmaceutical and petrochemical industries. Duplex machines are available in a range of sizes from laboratory scale units up to the KDD, one of the largest immersion mixers in the Silverson range.

Mixing highly abrasive materials such as ceramics, silica, mica, clays, chalk, graphites etc. can cause severe wear to mixing equipment, particularly on the bush and mixer shaft, reducing efficiency and leading to high maintenance costs and downtime.
Silverson offers a high shear mixer specifically for applications of this nature – the Abramix RBX series.
Silverson High Shear mixers are supremely efficient and can cut mixing times by up to 90% when compared to conventional agitators. The shortened mixing times obtained from using a Silverson mixer dramatically reduces the impact of abrasive materials. To enhance this advantage, the Abramix features a heavy-duty shaft which is firmly supported by two precision roller bearings, situated above the level of the product being mixed. The stability and vibration-free running which results from this arrangement removes the need for an immersed bush and reduces the wear to the mixer shaft. Rotor tips are specially hard tipped, further reducing the effect on wetted parts and the associated downtime and maintenance costs - minimum maintenance is a key feature of the design.
Another benefit of the Abramix model is dry running. Mixing of non-flammable products can continue uninterrupted while the vessel is being emptied, especially useful where suspensions need to be maintained or where thixotropic products are being processed.

By producing large, consistent, homogeneous batches, the Blendcon air blender simplifies material handling and quality control, and increases productivity.
Fast, homogeneous blending
The Blendcon air blender uses compressed air to lift, turn and tumble dry materials, utilizing the high kinetic energy released when compressed air is allowed to expand rapidly to atmospheric pressure. Compressed air is pulsed into the material in an upward circular pattern. This blending method is so effective that very few pulses are required to complete the blending cycle.
Blending is fast and thorough. The ratio of horsepower to material blended is very low, resulting in high efficiency.

Safety features include bowl operated limit switches to prevent the main drive from starting with the beater exposed and a trip mechanism in the hydraulic system to prevent finger trapping.

Conventional High Speed Dispersers consist of a driven vertical shaft and a high shear disk type blade.
The blade rotates at up to 5000 fpm and creates a radial flow pattern within a stationary mix vessel. The blade creates a vortex that pulls in the contents of the vessel to the blades sharp edges. The blade surfaces then mechanically tear apart solids thereby reducing their size, and at the same time dispersing them among the liquid used as the carrier fluid.
High Speed Dispersers are ideal for dispersions that are up to a maximum of approx. 50,000 centipoise. When used in conjunction with Multi-Shaft Mixers, they can be useful to several hundred thousand centipoise.

ULTRA-TURRAX®-machines for batch processing are available in 3 different series. All 3 machine series are distinguished by simple, rugged design. Parts which come into contact with the product are made of chromium-nickel steel in accordance with material specification no. ss 316 Ti.
With UTC-machines the stator is fixed to the stationary shaft tube.
For the UTS variant the stator is connected to the motor with 3 rods and a mounting flange. For machines working under pressure or vacuum as well as for the UTS-type the mounting flange is made of ss 316 Ti. For applications without pressure the flange is made of grey cast or aluminium, painted with a chemical resistant lacquer.
UTC and UTS-machines are suitable for installation on open or closed vessels. The preferred installation positions are vertical with an inclination or only vertical out of centre or lateral with an inclination.
With UTE-machines the three-phase motor, the rotor shaft and the flange for fixing of a stator are combined to one unit by means of a lantern. The mechanical seal is also integrated into this unit. These machines are designed for bottom entry. The bottom should be designed as dished bottom.

The High Viscosity Disperser is a useful mixer when slow speed-high viscosity paste mixing is required.
The LSD Model includes an air/oil hydraulic lift to raise and lower the agitator from a mix can. The agitator is either a slow speed Turbine or a Bow Tie design. As the agitator rotates in the batch of material, it gently belends the product until full homogenity occurs. Wetted parts are normally of stainless steel and drives are designed for variable speed operation using a Variable Frequency Inverter.
