HYDRA® corrugated bellows are made by hydraulic forming of thin-walled tubes. They can have one or more plies depending on the requirements profile.
Single-ply bellows have small spring rates and are employed particularly in vacuum technology.
Multi-ply bellows have a high compressive strength and at the same time high flexibility. They are used, for example, as valve spindle seals with working pressures up to 400 bar.
|
|
Thermo-plastic Seals and Miniature Bellows
Minimum resistance to movement combines with maximum protection in this vacuum-formed solution for thermo-plastic seals and miniature bellows applications.
-Manufactured from flexible or semi-rigid thermo plastics
-Flaccid materials provide minimum resistance to movement
-Low tooling costs - even for special designs
-Typically used for precision measuring devices and control switches
(Miniature polyurethane diaphragms are fitted to the probes of high-precision measuring equipment )

Bellows
Arnold bellows offer safe protection for both people and machinery. These are the products to soke your problems - in which material, stability and shape can be individually customised.
If the bellows will be subjected to high mechanical stress and strain, the telescopic covers provide safe protection even at high processing speeds. Due to our patented mounting system, the telescopic covers will either be flexibly mounted or connected with the bellows without the use of adhesive materials under consistent counter pressure, if required and can also be coolant-compatible, if this is desired.

Wide production range of protection bellows, round, rectangular and cone with different misures and dimensions.
If you don't find a appropriate model you can use the modular bellows.
Possibility to realize the mould as your drawing.
They can be produced in EPDM, NBR and VMQ.

Over the years Beakbane Bellows have established an ever increasing number of applications throughout industry. Today, they vary from the simplest of applications to the specialised requirements of high technology.
Bellows fall into two broad classes of use: as seals, or as connectors. When used as primary or additional seals, bellows are required to protect reciprocating mechanisms, keeping them free from contamination by their environment. When used as a connector, its function is to contain substances passing between fixing points it connects. In this mode, the bellow is designed to take up vibration, thermal expansion, and some misalignment in the system.
Beakbane has perfected alternative manufacturing techniques that utilise a wide range of materials to produce bellows that will meet most operational requirements.
Large or small, all our bellows are designed in-house, manufactured to suit their specific application and are Quality Assured to BS EN ISO 9001:2000 certification.

FLAT BELLOWS
•The thermic-welded protection bellows are largely used on every kind of machine tool. They are frequently used in machining
centers and chip-removing machines. In order to protect the bellow exposed to hot shavings, a shielding made by metal
elements, called "plates" will be necessary.
For meeting the needs of fastening the plates, the P.E.I. Group presents an effective solution at competitive prices.
The patented "Spring Fixing" fastening system is composed by springs housed in special clamps keeping the plates adherent
and loaded one on the other to prevent contaminants and shavings from entering and to allow a rotation up to 90° for making
the fastening of the bellow flanges to the machine tools easier.
X - Y LM SHIELD
•The X - Y LM SHIELD (Movable plates) represents the cheapest solution for protecting the working area in horizontal spindle machining centers where there is a large production of hot shavings.
This system consists of No. 2 horizontal bellows and No. 2 vertical bellows, protected by movable stainless steel plates guaranteeing a very functional product for Quality/Price.
• We can guarantee this system for accelerations up to 1.5 G and speeds up 120 m/min. Contact our engineering department if higher performance is required.

We design and manufacture protective cover systems for the special demand in your machine. We can consider mechanical measured variables (statics and dynamics), as well as environmental influences (e.g. liquids, temperature and chemical reactions).
When strong mechanical loads additional telescope sheet metals offer to safe protection also with high Verfahrgeschwindigkeiten.
The products and systems developed by us have themselves already under extreme conditions proven in horizontal/vertical processing centers, sharpening and milling machines, welding, gumption and flame cutting machines, center lathes, elevating platform and liftings device, with spindles and linear guidance, in the wood, glass, stone, treatment of ceramic(s), the robotics and automation, as well as in the measuring and medical technology, space and as Design element in furniture, and shining central industry.

Steel Telescopic Covers
Beakbane Steel Telescopic Covers are designed to protect machine tool slideways and are precision-built for optimum efficiency. Over the last three decades, Beakbane has developed and refined its design know-how and understanding of the requirements of machine tool builders to the point where it is an acknowledged international leader in its field.
The protection of machine tool slideways is essential if machine tool accuracy is to be maintained, down time reduced, and associated maintenance costs avoided.
By working closely with machine tool builders and adjusting quickly to the demands of the latest technology, Beakbane Steel Telescopic Covers have become an integral part of many machine tool designs. We cannot stress too strongly the importance of the cover requirements being considered at the design stage if maximum efficiency and cost benefits are to be achieved.
Our computerised design programme provides data for the precision manufacture of Beakbane Covers. This ensures instant recall of all information needed for repeat orders: also, as an indication of the precision in our manufacturing procedures, it enables us to replace a damaged 'box' in a cover when required.
The individual boxes that make up each cover are interlinking, and depending on the box structure, can be sufficiently rigid to support the weight of an operator when the cover is stationary.
Wiper seals are fitted, as required, to the leading edge of all boxes with the exception of the smallest. The wiper is pressure loaded so preventing the ingress of swarf and other unwanted foreign bodies. The wiper itself is made from hardwearing polyurethane or nitrile rubber, protected in its own steel case from hot chips and swarf.

Beakbane is an internationally respected manufacturer of covers for the protection of machine slideways. Folded, or concertina covers offer complete slideway protection for most applications and are essential for preventing the ingress of abrasive dust, dirt and other contaminants in precision machine parts, thereby minimising the risk of premature wear and loss of vital machine accuracy.
To specify your folded cover fully, we need:
•Position of cover on machine
•Full slideway details
•Type of protection required
•Speed of stroke
•Ambient temperature
•Extended and compressed lengths, or machine stroke requirement
|
|
Slideway protection are dimensonally stable and flexible.
Due to their lightly running they are particularly quiet. A save guiding
avoids pulling.

Modules of Protection centers X and Y
The protection measures are integrated and modifiable according to the requirements
Center X: Flex protect, bellows with plates, carpets articulated, telescopic covers
Center Y: Bellows with plates, bellows jealousy, carpets articulated, winding
Each component is dismountable separately.

For both intermittent and continuously rated joints where lubrication such as an oil bath is not available, we recommend the use of boots suitable for grease packing to retain lubricant and keep our contaminants. These are available in kits for all sizes of single joints and can be used in pairs on the double joint. Curtis boots do not require grooves on the hub of the joint to hold the boot in place.
Curtis Boot Kits consist of one boot and two ties. Part numbers may be obtained on the Selection Guide provided above.
Curtis Boots are typically manufactured from a polyvinyl chloride rubber blend, which is impervious to ozone and is ultraviolet stabilized. Our boots have a useful temperature range of -60°F to +220°F.
