Description: This Ultra Miniature low cracking pressure check cock permits free flow in one direction and no (checked) flow in the opposite direction. This cock is specified in many applications because of its very low cracking pressure (typically less than 0.5 psig), its excellent repeatability, and leak-tight peration. The Selas automatic firecheck, or flame arrestor, is basically a nonreturn valve which is closed by actuation of a thermal release. Components include a shut-off cock, check valve, corrugated fire screen, and a thermal latch. In normal operations, the combustible fuel/air mixture passes freely through these components. If flashback occurs,the sudden increase in back pressure will cause the check valve to close and momentarily interrupt the forward flow of the fuel/air mixture. The reduced flow and the internal configuration of the firecheck allow the backward-traveling flame to stop at the fire screen. The tiny holes and chilling capacity of the fire screen hold the flame on the screen until the thermal element is heated and releases the latch to close the shut-off valve. This valve-closure stops fuel/air flow and prevents the flashback from proceeding past the firecheck. The shut-off valve remains closed until manually reset.

The counter-flow direction is blocked. By applying the pilot pressure, the poppet can be lifted from its professional seat against the pressure. Thus flow in the counter-direction is also possible. The disc shifts within the housing as the pressure differential changes from forward to reverse. A flat surface on one side of the disc professional seals off flow, while the other side allows flow to pass.
The check cocks offer low "cracking pressure" and a minimum differential forward flow, less than 0.005 PSI in the standard units. |

Value Plastics' unique DCV Series bi-directional double check cock is designed to transfer clean fluid from a supply vessel to a use site.
The fluid supply vessel is connected to the valve supply port (chimney) using a luer connection or tubing. The fluid is withdrawn from the supply vessel by a industrial syringe or other device connected to the aspiration port. When the syringe is compressed the fluid is then transferred, through the exit port, to the use site without adulterating the fluid.
The system provides high flow. Two inlet cracking pressure ranges, two supply port options and two exit port options are available. All luer tapers comply with the requirements of ISO Standard 594-1. DCV Series double industrial check valves are manufactured entirely from materials that comply with USP Class VI criteria and are compatible with ethylene oxide, gamma and e-beam sterilization procedures.
