Power Solution for Bus Bar Differential Protection
Use the SEL-487B Bus Protection and Breaker Failure Relay to protect bus systems with up to 18 terminals (54 CTs) and 6 protection zones. Differential and directional current elements provide increased security and fast fault detection. The SEL-487B provides accurate, timely monitoring and metering of busbar, feeder, and substation signals. Terminal currents, breaker and disconnect positions, station dc voltage levels, and three-phase voltage are continuously monitored and updated. Simplify interconnect wiring using multiple communications protocols and ports. Use different ratio CTs and nondedicated CTs with the SEL-487B. Use CT ratios that differ by up to a factor of 10:1. Use the same CT for differential protection, metering, backup relaying, and other functions. |
|
Bus or Transformer High-Impedance Differential Relay
Apply the SEL-587Z Relay for single-zone bus protection; or sensitive restricted earth fault protection on grounded, wye-connected power transformer windings. Use high-impedance differential elements for fast tripping for in-zone faults, while providing security during heavy through faults and CT saturation. Reduce panel design cost and space requirements by using a single relay that includes three-phase protection, resistors, and metal oxide varistors. Use front-panel pushbuttons to save the expense of separately mounted control switches. Serial port communication provides for remote control of circuit breakers or other user-defined functions. |

Superior Differential Protection - With Zero Settings.
Use the economical SEL-387L to provide sensitive, fast, secure three-pole current differential protection with zero settings. The differential operating system of hte SEL-387L requires no settings. Configure the transmit and receive address, and the SEL-387L is ready to protect transmission lines and cables of any voltage. Protect two-terminal transmission lines and subtransmission lines with the same ratio CTs on each end. Apply a 64 Kb digital communications channel for complete phase and ground fault protection with no settings. Replace error-prone pilot-wire relays with a sensitive and secure fiber-optic line current differential relay. Use the built-in communications monitoring and alarm system to improve protection quality. |

| The L90, a member of the UR family of protection relays, is a digital current differential relay system which provides protection for transmission lines. It may be applied on or adjacent to series compensated lines for three phase tripping. The L90 utilizes an innovative current differential scheme with adaptive restraint that allows the relay to operate correctly even when fault currents are distorted by harmonics or CT saturation. Models are available for application on transmission lines with 2 or 3 terminals. The relay may be used as a standalone device or as a component of an automated substation control system. |

The 7SD60 relay is a numerical current differential protection relay, simple to set, operating in conjunction with the remote station via a two pilot-wire link. It is connected to the primary current transformers via an external summation current transformer. The primary field of application of the relay is protection of short overhead lines and cables with two line ends. However, transformers and reactors may be located within the protection zone.

The 7SD610 relay is a differential protection relay suitable for all types of applications and incorporating all those functions required for differential protection of lines, cables, transformers and busbars. Transformers and compensation coils within the differential protection zone are protected by means of integrated functions, which were previously to be found only in transformer differential protection. It is also well-suited for complex applications such as series and parallel compensation of lines and cables.
It is designed to provide protection for all voltage levels and types of networks; two line ends may lie within the protection zone. The relay features very high-speed and phase-selective short-circuit measurement. The unit is thus suitable for single-phase and three-phase fault clearance.
Digital data communication for differential current measurement is effected via fiber-optic cables, networks or pilot wires connections, so that the line ends can be quite far apart. |
