Building on the new range of Digital Ultrasonic Flaw Detectors recently launched by Sonatest Ltd, the new Railscan 125 has been developed specifically for use in rail testing market and is walking stick compatible.
Developed using cutting edge technologies the new Railscan 125 has been developed with the user and application environment in mind, meeting the Network Rail standard NR/SP/TRK/005 for Rail Testing Portable Ultrasonic Equipment.
Rugged, waterproof construction combined with superior battery life render this unit as being ideally designed for rail testing applications and harsh working environments. The transflective colour display is daylight viewable and now supports a larger display area, which is expandable for full screen viewing.
Software development has resulted in a new user orientated menu navigation system, broken down into four key areas: calibration, measurement, utilities and memory. The subtly redesigned user interface allows for faster parameter changes, providing unique Help keys for all functions and above all ease of use.
With improved overall performance, more robust casing and advanced software features the results will speak for themselves.

The Sitescan delivers high performance and advanced features, yet our engineer's experience in user interface design has ensured it is easy and quick to use. The acknowledged ease of use of previous generation Sitescans has been enhanced with the menu navigation scroll-wheel, providing easy access to functions. The menu structure has been designed to guide the user through their task with operation quickly becoming second nature. The Sitescan D-10 uses a broad band amplifier compatible with a wide range of transducers whilst the D-20 model uses several narrow bands for improved performance. The analogue feel from the high quality broadband amplifier shows all the detail required to identify defect types such as holes or cracks, and sufficient resolution for identifying small signals. Typical applications are weld inspection, corrosion testing, small castings, forgings and delamination checking.

For over 20 years the Masterscan name has meant exceptional performance with class leading design, and the 350M and 380M continue this tradition. The latest developments in amplifier and pulser technology deliver higher levels of near surface resolution, penetrating power and excellent signal to noise ratio. Typical applications are thin walled components, turbine blades, spot
welds, power generation (including EMATs), large castings and forgings.

Core fracture detection at die casting processed critical components made from light metal like aluminium or magnesium .
The light metal transparent metal detector of the MMD series detects broken off cores residing in the cast part. STLs unique Magnetic Field Measurement Technology offers an innovative solution for a yet unsolved problem.
This opens new dimensions for quality management in Light Metal Casting.
This new technology is also more precise, faster and cost saving than X-ray or Ultrasound test procedures.
The detector offer the following advantages :
The sensor is the only additional system in the
production process
Also for existing equipment by integration in
robot software
Short measurement time, ideal for high
throughput production environment
Maintenance free
Reliable even at high interference level
++++ STL is looking for a distributor with excellent
contacts to the Aluminum Industry for this product++++
