MP2100,MP2100M
Simply install a board that is half the size of a standard PCI on your personal computer, and your computer can be used for servo-drive control. With 51 Application Program Interfaces (APIs) available, you can create a wide variety of motion programs and enter motion commands.
Motion commands can be entered from either your personal computer or the MP2100 depending on your machine’s characteristics. The MP2100M has the same specifications as the MP2100 except that it contains a board that has functions similar to the SVB-01 module. Because of this additional board, the MP2100M is capable of carrying out synchronous control on up to 32 axes. The programming method of the MP2100M is the same as that of the MP2100.

MCH series motion checkers are a palm size controller with integrated driver circuit built-in for 2-phase stepper motors. Both motion checker MCH-3 and MCH-5 series run unipolar and bipolar winding stepper motors. MCH-5 series has pulse/direction output signal so that it can be used as a standalone controller to connect any driver board.

The DMC-18x6 PCI bus controllers belong to Galil's latest generation motion controller family: the Accelera Series. Incorporating a 32-bit Risc-based microcomputer, these new controllers offer high-speed performance and processing power. Speed improvements include acceptance of encoder inputs up to 22 MHz, servo update rates as low as 24 microseconds/axis, and command execution speeds as low as 40 microseconds. While the DMC-18x6 offers performance enhancements compared to prior generation controllers, the programming language and 100-pin SCSI connector are virtually the same, making conversion to the DMC-18x6 quick and easy.
Like all Galil controllers, programming the DMC-18x6 is simplified with two-letter, intuitive commands and a full set of software tools such as WSDK for servo tuning and analysis, and an ActiveX Tool Kit for Visual Basic users.

Galil's DMC-21x3 Ethernet motion controllers are designed for extremely cost-sensitive and space-sensitive applications. These controllers are typically half-the-price and half-the-size of box-level Ethernet controllers. These intelligent, card-level controllers can be purchased with plug-in, multi-axis amplifier boards which eliminate wiring between the controller and drives. Amplifier boards are available for driving stepper, brush and brushless servo motors up to 500 Watts. Or, the ICM-20100 break-out board can be used for easy connection to external drives.
The DMC-21x3 series is available in one through eight axis versions and can be configured for control of step or servo motors on any combination of axes. The card-level controller measures just 4.25" x 7.0" for one through four-axis models and 4.25" x 10.75" for five through eight axes. Any mode of motion can be programmed including linear and circular interpolation, contouring, electronic gearing and ecam. As with all Galil controllers, programming the DMC-21x3 is simplified with two-letter, intuitive commands and a full set of software tools such as GalilTools for servo tuning and analysis, and the ActiveX Tool Kit for Visual Basic users.

Galil's CDS-3310 is a single-axis controller and drive system for precisely controlling a brush or brushless servo motor. It combines a high-performance, programmable motion controller with a 500W PWM drive in a compact, cost-effective package. The CDS-3310 provides a 10/100 Base-T Ethernet port and individual CDS-3310 units may be connected on a distributed network and programmed as a single controller. The communication burden is minimized because the host PC only has to talk with the master CDS-3310, which in turn communicates with the other CDS-3310 on the network.
The CDS-3310 incorporates a 32-bit microcomputer and provides such advanced features as PID compensation with velocity and acceleration feedforward, program memory with multitasking for simultaneously running up to eight programs, and uncommitted I/O for synchronizing motion with external events. Modes of motion include point-to-point positioning, jogging, contouring, electronic gearing and ECAM. As with all Galil controllers, programming the CDS-3310 is simplified with two-letter, intuitive commands and a full set of software tools such as WSDK for servo tuning and analysis, and the ActiveX Tool Kit for Visual Basic users.

The DMC-40x0 motion controller is Galil's highest performance, stand-alone motion controller. It belongs to Galil's latest generation motion controller family: the Accelera Series, which accepts encoder inputs up to 22 MHz, provides servo update rates as high as 32 kHz, and processes commands as fast as 40 microseconds-10 times the speed of prior generation controllers.
The DMC-40x0 is a full-featured motion controller packaged with optional multi-axis drives in a compact, metal enclosure. The unit operates stand-alone or interfaces to a PC with Ethernet 10/100Base-T or RS232. The controller includes optically isolated I/O, high-power outputs capable of driving brakes or relays, and analog inputs for interfacing to analog sensors. The DMC-40x0 controller and drive unit accepts power from a single 20-80 VDC source. The DMC-40x0 is available in one through eight-axis formats, and each axis is user-configurable for stepper or servo motor operation.

Motion Control Solutions
Baldor provides a wide range of motion control solutions for the automation industry by offering a choice of easy to use programmable motion controllers (positioners) with multi-tasking capability and drives (amplifiers) to suit many applications - the NextMove family is available in PCI format or standalone; the FlexDrive family covers a wide power range; and Ethernet Powerlink (e100 series) provides designers with real-time solutions. Motion control systems can be up and running quickly thanks to Baldor's Mint programming language. Mint is a versatile, yet easy to use, Basic like programming language. A wide range of programmable moves are supported including trapezoidal, S-ramp, linear and circular interpolation, helical interpolation, electronic CAM, gearbox and flying shear. User defined profiles can be added using the supplied embedded 'C' libraries. Mint also supports full control of the I/O and communications back to a host controller. Machine level networking and optional operator panel control can all be controlled under a single Mint application program.
Our latest generation NextMove controllers and intelligent drive, MintDrive, all support multi-tasking Mint, with the ability to write complex programs easily. The number of tasks is limited only by available memory.
A complete set of ActiveX components are supplied with the controllers, allow full motion and I/O sequencing to be performed on a host PC. Application programs can be written in popular programming languages such as Visual BasicTM, Delphi and LabView.

Piezo LEGS® - Electronics
As the Piezo LEGS® motor is a non-resonant motor, the drive electronics can be made very simple and reliable. There is no need to keep track of the temperature or other environmental factors normally associated with electronics for resonant piezo motors, nor is there a need to tune the motor for the surrounding mechanical structure, different cable lengths etc.
To drive the Piezo LEGS® motor you need four phases plus ground. To create motion in one drive leg of the motor element you need two phases, one for each side of the electrically separated halves of the leg. The walking drive principle of the motor requires two pairs of legs that operate independently, adding two drive phases.
The same curve form is used for all phases and normally with a drive voltage signal from 0 to + 48 V. For each drive leg the applied signals are normally phase shifted 90° between the two independent sides of one drive leg and normally 180° between the two pairs of legs (see figure to the left below).
It is our experience that most of our customers want to integrate the drive electronics into their own PCB boards etc. and we encourage this by having several design proposals available for different applications and demands. Please contact us if you need further information in this respect.
We also offer our own PDA 3.1 Driver. This is a low cost driver with a simple +/- 10 V analogue interface that allows you hook up the driver to any standard DC or servo motor controller.
There is also other commercially available drivers and controllers from different manufacturers that have been developed for the Piezo LEGS® motors and we would be glad to give you assistance.

The DMC-1417 for the PCI bus is a member of the Econo Series, Galil's family of single-axis motion controllers which are half the size and half the price of multi-axis controllers. The DMC-1417 can handle the most demanding applications with such features as an extra encoder input for electronic gearing, program memory with multitasking, uncommitted I/O and user-selectable stepper or servo motor control. Modes of motion include point-to-point positioning, jogging, contouring, electronic gearing and ecam. Programming the DMC-1417 is simplified with two-letter, intuitive commands and a full set of software tools such as WSDK for servo tuning and analysis, ActiveX Tool Kit for Visual Basic users and a C-Programmers Tool Kit. The Brick Motion Controller features 4 or 8 (optional) axes of analog +/-10V filtered PWM (12-bit resolution) or pulse and direction outputs. Standard I/O capability is 16 inputs and 8 outputs at 12-24V fully protected and isolated with separate commons for each bank of 8 inputs. Outputs are rated for 1 ampere each and are thermal-fuse protected. Outputs can be current sinking or sourcing depending on use of common emitter or common collector connections.
