These new Contrinex sensors are characterized by their remarkably small size, Ø 4 mm smooth or M5, with a housing length of 35 mm. Protruding by 1.8 mm, the spherical sapphire lens projects a cylindrical light beam with a diameter < 4 mm, permitting recessed mounting. Despite their small size, they are fully self-contained, thus making an additional evaluation device superfluous. As a result, the sensors are less costly and easier to install than optical fibers with professional amplifiers. In addition, they replace larger switches where mounting space is limited. The devices are short-circuit proof and operate in a voltage range of 10 ... 30 VDC, and with an output current of up to 100 mA. They are moreover fully vacuum potted and, as a result, largely insensitive to environmental influences (degree of protection Ip 67).

Equipped with a ultra-compact case of dimensions 8 X 10,8 X 16,2 mm resistant to the shocks and vibrations, these detectors are smallest (size) market proposing an elimination of the adjustable background.
